WTH is that??? Henry before Thilthorpe and DGB?? Rioli and Coleman in the top 10. Are half of them taking the piss?

It is what it is. If you rate someone that high take them. If someone had taken Will Day there last year, people would have said the same, only 12 months on and I doubt the Hawks would be trading him for anyone other than Rowell from that top ten.

Is there a BF phantom happening this year eDPS? I think I read it was planned for after trade period but that's gone and we're only three weeks away now.
I mean the usual one with the serious draft watchers.

It’s in the works, might be started next week

The official one is in the works, yeah. Just waiting on lists to be finalised as that usually affects a few things, like list needs and ordinarily also the draft order (not this year).

Fair enough but Day was always around the top 10-15, Fair chance Rioli goes in the rookie draft.

FWIW I'd trade Anderson, Serong or Green for Day.

I would be surprised if their preference isn't to take 2 top 10s and trade the other with pies for 16 and their future 1st and then take the 2 academy kids.
i think we'll have an additional senior spot still
Could be DFA/MSD spot.
Or we grab a late pick if Brand bid doesnt come in before 44.

or we use 44 & F3's we have to move up

Why on earth would Collingwood part with 14 and their future first for one of our firsts? That sounds like a terrible waste of picks. Especially in a year where the draft is more speculative than usual.

Their first round pick next year gets eaten up by the Daicos bid so they don't have a great need for it and can instead move up ahead of their McInnes bid this year

I think with the amount of picks that will get sucked up from bids on rival players (JUH, Campbell, Jones, McInnes etc) our late picks will be plenty to cover Brand and Eyre. Perhaps 44 or one of the future 3rds get used in getting the pies to deal with us. I definitely think keeping a spot free for the mid season draft is a great option with some of the Vic kids who slip through and dont get picked up due to no exposure in their senior year.

If we elect to not replace Mozzie in the SSP we'll have a MSD pick. However I suspect we'll be signing Kyle Dunkley that way

I think if Mozzie goes on the LTI we will have 32 contracted, 3 Cat A rooks (Clarke, Gleeson, McQuillan) and 2 Cat B rooks (Hird, McBride).
That means we can either add 5 senior list spots and 2 Cat A rookies or 6 senior list and 1 Cat A rookie. Definitely wont be surprised if Dunkley is added to Rookie list. So maybe we take 5 picks, add Dunkley and keep 1 spot free.

I hope they still feel this way. Massive chance they have a top 5 pick.

Okay, assuming that Mozzie and Stewart are signed on, we'll have 32 senior, 4 Cat A (you forgot Snelling) and 2 Cat B.

I had included Snelling in the 32 but had Mosquito on the LTI so didn't include him in the numbers. Not sure on the timeframe on when a club can transfer someone from the primary list to LTI.

Snelling is a Category A rookie for 1 more year. You can put a player on the LTI at any point in time, you just have to have him there a minimum of 8 weeks

So if Moz is on the primary list and Snelling is Cat A we can take 5 and 1 rookie, or 6 and no rookies and then potentiall replace Moz down the track?

We can take 4/2, 5/1 or 6/0.

Inactive list ≠ LTI list though. I don't think they do the LTI list anymore except to upgrade Cat B rookies.

Inactive list rules them out for the season so that they can be replaced by drafting another rookie, and they can't be moved back to the senior list unless someone replaces them on the inactive list (so the rookie has security with that 6 month contract or whatever).

Not sure if you can put them on that list before the draft and whether it affects senior list numbers for the purposes of list lodgements, but it seems not or we wouldn't have needed to rookie both Clarke and Gleeson (both of whom have contracts that we probably now have to pay out).

Another aspect of the AFL that isn't present in the published rules! Hopefully the revised CBA includes some of this stuff.

Yeah true for some reason thought it was minimum 37 on main list but yeah 36 so could have plenty of options which way they want to go

Green for sure but dont count him cause he was academy reserved. Not Anderson, I thought he under performed from my expectations. Serong was great too but don’t see the upside from here. You’d be happy if he produced this level for the rest of his career though. Day though blew me away, strength beyond his size, amazing aerially at times, impacted games all over. Hell of pick that a lot thought was a reach.

Ah, I see, thanks.

I can’t keep up with our academy/FS let alone others.
