Surely we know how to fix guys with OP, right? Stewart had it and has looked better than ever since he came back. Don't think OP is a reason to pass on Thilthorpe if he's there.
Look, we can say we've had a little success, sure. I don't think drafting someone with a history with that injury is a wise choice is all. Just because you can fix it doesn't mean you should put yourself in a position to have to fix it.

If the go-home factor is enough to turn people of McDonald, then surely the go-home factor + potential for reoccurrence of op is more than enough to turn people off Thilthorpe.

If we can't land McDonald, I'd prefer we landed Cox.

I suffer post osteitis pubis trauma, so I also think the Crows should take him. I do agree, though, he looks a player. Joe Daniher also looked good when he played.
Gumbleton
Daniher
Thilthorpe... do you really want to go down that road?

gumby had back related hamstring issues, totally different.

Daniher could’ve should’ve would’ve recovered a lot faster had he applied himself a lot more in rehab as pointed out by Goddard.

lots of great players have had injury concerns at age of 18 and become stars, Selwood had an ACL, JUDD had shoulder issues, Hodge at groin issues in his first couple years I believe And Max King had ACL.

if the club believes it can rehabilitate him, even if We wait a year the next 10 years will be worth it.

You don't have to convince me. I'm on the McDonald train.

Would be utter negligence to trade 2 x top 10 picks for an 18yo tall from WA unless another first round coming back.

put it this way. In 2 years time if he ticked all the boxes, we wouldn’t get 2 x top ten picks in a trade back to w coast or freo.

Danihers trade value as a young kpf aa 3 years ago would have been 2 first round

Our history of rehabilitating injured players is appalling.

Yeah, because Hooker's never been the same since his early career injuries. And Stewart's never come back from his OP. And Hird retired from his foot injury in '99.

...Oh wait, none of those happened because we eventually fixed those guys. If we hadn't been so hellbent on trying to win a final with a list that very clearly wasn't up to it, we probably would've fixed Daniher sooner too or managed him in such a way that his OP never blew up. If we draft Thilthorpe at 6, which is probably a longshot anyway, then we'll fix him too.

Yep. I'd be happy with another first coming back. O'Driscoll maybe...

Yeah, I'd just prefer my new car to not be recalled because of a mechanical fault.

Gumby had no such injuries before being drafted, there’s no guarantees in life.

Players get injured, period. Elijah Holland’s had an ACL? Bruhns had 2 knee injuries. Phillips is 180cm, McDonald takes too many chest marks not enough contested. Everyone has their negatives.

I would be shocked if we passed on Thilthorpe with all 3 picks.

He is likely to be a ~203cm, ~105kg monster in his prime with an engine to outwork his opponent. It's a huge opportunity for us.

We’d have to move up to NAB him, he won’t get past north, swans or Hawks if available.

I am not keen on another 200cm key forward with ongoing groin issues. As promising as he may be.

While I'm keen on McDonald, I think it's probably likely Adelaide take him with Pick 1. So, not keen on Thilthorpe but if he slides to 6 and we have three picks, okay. I accept it's a rebuild. Take a key forward later if Thilthorpe is cursed.

Interestingly, I'm not keen on either Hollands or Bruhn. Go figure.

If Adelaide are seriously considering Riley at pick 1 but they go for McDonald/Hollands instead. Thilthorpe falling to us will land us a nice trade considering they own pick 9.

Adelaide's future first in a straight swap if they want him.

Huh? Don't GWS own 9?
They traded it to Adelaide last year to avoid the bid on Tom Green.
