Yeah I know you haven’t, but trading up/ ‘generational player’ argument go hand in hand. Well obviously I haven’t seen him play live this year 😂 Obviously seeing them play live is better, but it’s not like you don’t get anything out of vision. Do you think he’s a generational player? Why are you against trading up?
I can not say he is a generational player as I have not seen him play live. I like to see them play 5 or 6 games live so I can look at the full field and see the events that you can not see from watching footage. You do actually miss a lot. If I am going to make a definite decision I like to see them live , go back and watch games again and also discuss with a few I know who have also been watching. I also read most draft previews. They can throw up stuff you may want to have a second look at.

Reason for not trading up. I am not convinced Adelaide will not pick him so you would want to be into Hollands as well.
I problem would deal two of the picks for pick 1.
I do trust the WA scouts I know. They really like him.

Thilthorpe sliding straight to West lakes at pick 1?
Very hard to gather at the moment. It was a genuine 50/50 a week ago but now there's reported concerns about his groin and him wanting to be more of a ruck who rests forward than the other way around.

I think he would be perfect for North

Foxfooty.com.au understands Hawthorn (Pick 4) and Essendon (Picks 6, 7 and 8) are both considering drafting the 18-year-old (Perkins) with their first-round selections.

Would through a cat amongst the pigeons if the draft goes

1. McDonald
2. Hollands
3. DGB
4. Perkins
5. Phillips

Even thought it will most likely go
1. Thilly
2. McDonald
3. DGB
4. Hollands
5. Phillips

Kind words mate.
much appreciated.
every bomber fan wants the best for their club.
I reckon north will keep pick 2 anyway
i reckon Collingwood will be movers in this draft.
‘they will either try and get one of our picks or perhaps target gold coasts pick 5 for 2021 first rounder and pick 16
i believe they are keen on Nik cox
can see GCS doing that if Phillips is gone.

I wouldn't mind missing Cox if we turned one of the picks into 16 & F1.
Ideally i think i want Reid, Perkins & Cox.
But if it was Reid, Perkins & O'Driscoll + additional 2021 1st, that's a better overall outcome.

Noble could be a big fan of a certain player after his time with lions and taking some recent WA and Country prospects. Hollands or McDonald would have to be very likely in his sights.
I'm certainly not ITK - if Dodoro was looking to trade up with North - would he be inclined to let out who he was chasing (in a secret handshake type deal) to promote the swap i.e. we're going McDonald, so player X you're chasing will be there at 6?

Or would they never play their hand, to protect the pick identity

Would love either scenario to be fair as long as we don't go Bruhn/Henry/Chapman that would be the worst 3

Perkins at 4 would mean one of Hollands, Phillips, DGB or Thilthorpe slip.
No chance McDonald lasts that long.
Either way, not an issue for us. I'd be happy with any of those at our 1st.

works unless North want McDonald.

Realistically though, the deal only gets done on draft night post pick 1.
No point doing this if McDonald is gone at 1.

There you go - fair call

My thoughts were - pretty much the same as the trade period - that there would be a hell of a lot of negotiation before the night. You are correct though, that 10 picks in that everyone's plan could well be turned upside down

I think Sydney are 100% on DGB and GC on Phillips meaning Hollands/Thilly could slip

Wouldn’t surprise me if north go for whoever they feel is the best leader of those players. They’ve got a long rebuild ahead of them without much long term leadership on their list, and you need some really strong characters to bring a young side through what’s going to be a rough few years.

Serious question

If we could have any player in the draft pool, who would you take?

Jamara Ugle - Hagan
Ellijah Hollands
Logan McDonald
Denver Grainger - Barrass
Will Phillips
Riley Tilthorpe
Archie Perkins
Whoever is more accurate infront of goals, between McDonald and JUH.

according to B Buckley, there is no long rebuild - its top 4 in 3 years then a flag - might as well start topping up now

JUH or Hollands. Dunno about DGB. Think it's a bit of a wasted pick taking a defender that high.
The last top 10 pick we selected turned out alright (hi Michael Hurley)

Serious question

If we could have any player in the draft pool, who would you take?

Jamara Ugle - Hagan - Worry about his kicking for goal and field kicking
Ellijah Hollands - Worry about the ACL
Logan McDonald - Worry about him going back to WCE
Denver Grainger - Barrass - If he slid to 6/7/8 i would be happy don't think he worth 3
Will Phillips - If we didn't get Caldwell and Merrett was definitely out of here next year then yes
Riley Tilthorpe - Worry about his groins and him starting this bullshit that he wants to be a Ruck first aka Carlise/Ryder flash backs
Archie Perkins - For 6/7/8 maybe he is bolting for some reason he is a high impact low quantity player
Nik Cox
Vic Metro Draft Combine:
Running Vertical Jump (R/L) – 80cm/77cm
Speed (20m) – 2.95 seconds
Endurance (2km) – 6:02

He is athletic, can jump, can kick both sides of the bodies, high football smarts, good below his knees. Can play wing/forward/back

If Hollands lasted to 6 I'd (almost) give my left nut.
If we get him past his ACL issues then yes please

Agreed. You don't need to invest so much in defenders.
In terms of value for money, selecting a key defender later is much more viable. They don't need to be anything special. A key forard ultimately needs to be able to mark the ball and kick goals.
