I just want a definitive answer and not three pages of rubbish but the maximum picks we can we take in the national draft is?

I don't care about rookies (yet), just the national draft please
6 senior list spots currently i believe, not including Mozzie decision

But we already have 4 rookies (Snelling, McQuillan, Clarke and Gleeson) so he is either kept or delisted.

I imagine kept as we can get an extra rookie as he is on the LTI

So that means we can take

pick 6
pick 7
pick 8
middle draft selection OR potential Delisted Free Agent
Cody Brand
Josh Eyre

Maybe a pick in the middle of the draft isn't all that bad. In saying that, some very reasonable delisted free agents available and wouldn't surprise if we went down this path.

I would be kicking the tyres on Robbie Fox and Derek Eggmolese-Smith as we speak, personally.

A small defender would be ideal as a DFA with them available

I know Shane Savage shopped himself to GWS but he is another I'd be looking at

Wouldn't mind Fox on top of the 3x ND picks & 2x NGA's.
Hind & Fox aren't Saad & McKenna, but they're ready to go at the very least.

Robbie Fox would also be another Coburg-Essendon connection which is a good thing.

The egg is no good. He had one good game (I think against North) where they just kept kicking it to him and he got Brownlow votes. It bought him about 3 or 4 more games after that and they were all no good. He's not AFL standard

Understand this, I wouldn't want to be trading into the middle parts of the draft just because. If Adelaide did come to us for pick 6 (Riley Thilthorpe happens to slide) then we absolutely ask the question of pick 9 + 2021 picks. I don't think it happens but it's a serious though. Picks 22 - 24 would be useless to us.
Completely agree with this. unless we do a deal with Collingwood, the deal with the Crows would have to be for 9 and then future picks. We take 3 early selection and then the 2 academy kids.

Like Saad :)
oh wait :P

I think the only way Thilthorpe or hollands slip is perkins gets taken top 5.
Would wonder if the Crows stump up 22 & 23 + F1 for 6 at that point.
7 & 23 -> Coll for F1, 14 & 16.

2020 - 8, 14, 16, 22 (Reid, O'Driscoll, Maher, ???)
2021 - EFC, AFC, CFC 1sts + 2x F3.

22,23 AND our F1 which is likely to be Top 3 Pick, if not Pick 1.........for Pick 6?

You're a fellow Celtic supporter so I'll assume that's just a typo :)

nah. if we're gonna give you access to a high rated gun like Thilthorpe....someone we sorely need....won't come cheap :)

Also, Go Celtic!!! :)

Not necessarily.
Having consecutive picks 6, 7 and 8 means it does not matter to us what order we take those 3 picks. So if we rate those players as a player we'd be happy to take in one of those 3 picks, then we should absolutely make the bid at 6 and make the club pay top dollar.
We should bid for Campbell at 6, assuming he's still there, then McInnes, then Jones, then take our 3 picks. It makes no sense not to.
You have to be happy to walk away with those 3 players

There is no sense in not bidding on Campbell with our first. The aim of the bidding is simply to get pick 44 in as much as possible.

Id think pies would strongly consider passing on Mcinness at pick 6-8 range if were happy with that then we should.

Happy to bid on L.Jones aswell. Hes what we need but i feel the crows a pick later will do that damage given Thilthorpe isnt there somehow. Let the crows take that hit dont want to piss too many off

These guys will bid on Brand/Eyre early otherwise

Jeez Braeden Campbell looks like such a beautiful kick of the footy.

I wonder what the chances are of him getting bid on at pick 2 by North?

That would be a great outcome as it would remove the swans pick 4 and give us a better shot at the fantastic 5.
Swans would likely look to trade 3 out if a bid comes at 2, then trade back in.
So someone else would get 3...Question would be, do we get involved

Hasn't the AFL squashed that manoeuvre after Sydney did it a few years ago with Blakey?

Prospective No.1 draft selection Logan McDonald has vowed to "repay the faith" of whichever club drafts him in a fortnight's time as he tries to enjoy the simpler things in life ahead of a likely departure from Western Australia.

"If I do have to move away I'll miss them, but it's also an exciting opportunity to get out of home and follow my dream," he said.

"I've been really open to moving out. If a team gives me an opportunity then I'll look to repay the faith."

Come on Adelaide take McDonald

All three early (likely) available academy kids would fill a void for us. Campbell across half back/wing, McInness as a big bodied mid and L.Jone as another running defender. No hesitation on any of these three joining us.

It's good he is open to moving, because he won't have a choice. See how long the faith lasts when Eagles and Dockers start throwing money at him down the track.

haven't seen anything, but would be an interesting rule.

Found this article where they said they are set to make the changes but nothing stating they actually have made the change. So who knows??

Ha!

I'd say if he's still on the board at GC's pick we'll make an offer to them, and probably offer Essendon the same if he drops further still. But if there's no concerns from your list mgmt team about him being a flight risk, or around his OP, then I don't see why you wouldn't select him with one of your picks.

If he simply drops to our Pick 9 then I think we can safely there would be some serious concerns about his fitness/OP, but i doubt this would be the case.

I mean unless Freo/WCE trade up to two, he is definitely going

Reading the interview i get a complete different feeling, he will be back on the first plane
