Am I crazy thinking Adelaide will grab Denver Grainger-Barrass? I genuinely believe he's the best player in the draft, seems like a game changer and a red lit beacon of the modern game.

Man Adelaide do love a KPP defender with their first pick: Lever, Davis, Doedee (who was a total left of field pick), McAsey.

Given Doedee and McAsey I reckon they go with something different.

Does scare me but at pick 6 with his ceiling it's well worth the risk IMO

if it was one bite at the cherry, you'd play it safe.
Given we have 3, with the potential to turn it into 4, i'd take the punt.

Giving the draft central guide a read, there are a lot of good options for us with later picks.
leaning towards a split of 8 into Pies picks (maybe securing their F1 along the way)

Powell, Poulter, O'Driscoll all look good options.

if he goes early to the hawks, then ideally Thilthorpe slips and we grab Reid or Cox as well.
Split 8, 2 of Poulter, Powell & O'Driscoll, then add Brand & Eyre.

Yeah my preference is to split that pick into 2 first round picks. Collingwood's future first and 16 would be ideal but all really depends what else we have to give up.

I know people keep on talking about O'Driscoll, but I honestly think we're more likely to grab Tom Powell if we trade back, or even at pick 8.
Exactly what we need, tough accumulator who can play round 1.

Don’t need another sub 6 foot mid.

Out of the non-academy players availiable at our pick.

Riley has the best combination of performance and upside. By a good margin.

His groins are an issue, a real risk. There are also risks with our other options, so I still lean towards him over the alternatives.

Okay, what about this scenario:

Thilthorpe slips to us

We trade 8 to Adelaide for picks 11 and a future second (either theirs or Melbourne's)
We then trade 9 and the future second to Collingwood's 16 and future first

Take picks 10, 11, 18 (move back for Jones and McInnes)

I like all the suggestions but maybe we shouldn't get to smart and just take the 3 best players available, take the NGA boys and move on!
