I really don’t get the idea of us bidding with the third pick. If we want the player surely it’s better to go earlier and at worst you make Sydney/Port pay extra then you definitely get the other two players you wanted anyway. If we don’t want the player as one of those 3 picks then don’t bid. Is it just to be nice to the other clubs?

We're fairly sorted for KPD's, and Himmelberg is developing well as a KPF. I think what your poster is saying is that Picks 8-12 are likely to include a few KPP's, and if we're looking at entertaining decent offers for Pick 9 then it could be because we've already taken a tall with our first pick.

The general discussions here have been around sides trading up for McDonald. Or us trading back with one pick. My point was if you take McDonald then the trade up scenario to get into the top 5 goes away.

Yeah there’s Gippsland and there’s Gippsland though. He’s a gatha boy so that’s not the worst, rolling green hills and all that. If he was one of the types who frequent mid valley, I wouldn’t say he’s from god’s country at all (uncontrollable shuddering)
