For everyone who's heard me rave about Green, but hasn't seen him - here you go:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/102036/default.aspx

This is probably one of the more accurate highlights packages in that it shows you exacxtly what kind of footballer Josh is, and highlights his strengths and limitations.

And on Polec guys, most kids try and sell themselves in their profiles - read another 10/15 and you'll see exactly what I mean. I wouldn't be reading a whole heap into the profile.

First of the combine results:
Standing Vertical Jump top 10:
1st Brad Harvey 78cm
=2nd Nathan Batley 71cm
=2nd Anton Hamp 71cm
4th Joel Wilkinson 66cm
=5th Kieran Harper 65cm
=5th Cameron Gutherie 65cm
=7th Shaun Atley 64cm
=7th Dyson Heppell 64cm
=9th Seb Tape 63cm
=9th Billie Smedts 63cm

We'd love a Daisy Thomas. My feelings are similar to bigstyle.
Agree. For all the bagging Thomas cops, surely nobody can question him as a footballer any longer. Was superb in the GF on the weekend and has had a stuinning season. Tough little bastard too, despite the carry on that some people go on with.

nice !

It's a pity Day and Gorringe aren't there, they would have been the likely #1 and #2 in the vertical.

For everyone who's heard me rave about Green, but hasn't seen him - here you go:
He's a goer. Pretty accurate describing himself as Marc Murphy-like. Would be very happy with him as a second-rounder.

That he is tugs. Genuine gun. I'd like to snare another top 15 pick to get Kieran Harper, who is a bit Thomas-ish.

Certainly the best comparison to an AFL player I've seen - Josh is very intelligent on the field and has a good football brain. Breaks the lines like Murphy does as well.

Bit of a sponge - give him belief and a game plan and he'll soak it up.

Agreed on Thomas too - the kind of linkman with x-factor and swagger that would just about complete our midfield for mine.

I'm quite captivated with Polec as a prospect because I think of him in those terms, as providing that x-factor. Run and carry, big kick, hits targets, really clean, but he's quick and hassles and harries the opponent.

I'd think you would take Heppell in front of him, and maybe Lynch/Gorringe - but I still really like Polec as a fit to our team.

On Harper - Ratd - here's a really good read:

Cheers TFL, good read. That is the $64,000 question with Harper: can he produce consistently, because his best is exhilarating.

I like Polec a lot too, but as you say he's behind Heppell and Lynch for mine. It's one of those two at 6 for me.

Yeah I really liked it in terms of an article as well - gives a good insight into why the majority of his season didn't live up to the standards he set in 2009.

R.e. consistency - exactly. His best is enough to have you rate him in the top 5 in terms of god given talent, but you'd want to see a lot more of something resembling that on a more regular basis.

Also a few prospects I like in terms of jagging late:

Andrew Phillips/Tom Hickey (my 2 favourite ruckmen after the big 2)
Tim Millera
Cameron Richardson
Viv Michie
Anton Hamp

My two guys who're no longer anywhere near sneaking under the radar:

Isaac Smith
Patrick Karnezis

Yeah mate - there's certainly a lot to like. I still think it bottoms out a bit steeply after 75/80, so I think 5 is about right.

Not if we can trade out players for a few more picks, at least a couple on the top 30, hopefully one in the top 20.

As many in the top 80 as we can.

I'm expecting a bit more ruthlessness from the Tigers in the coming seasons, but they'll be trying really hard to not let that impact on the culture they're building.

Exciting times ahead :thumbsu:

I hope to god we are trying to get as many picks as possible inside the top 30 and more importantly trying to secure more inside the top 20.

If we could get Heppell or Lynch at 6 and Harper (so skillful) or Caddy in between 10-20 that would be awesome.

Harper is so skillful he can just about kick a goal from anywhere...

harper is going to be a awsome hff player, realy want him at richmond.massive upgrade on king and white

Oh hell yess...if we can somehow get a top 20 pick and land him plus trade Thursfield for Vezpremi and draft Lynch at 6 in a few years time:

Harper Lynch Vezpremi

Riewoldt Griffiths Taylor

That forward line is mint....get it done!

VESZPREMI

THE SYDNEY Swans will again be an active player in next week’s player exchange period and out-of-favour forward Patrick Veszpremi may be one player whose name comes up at the trade table.

HARPER
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/103377/default.aspx

Harper had a superb 2009 season when he was an AIS scholarship holder. In 2010 he had only one game in which he confirmed his potential, the last game of the AFL under-18 championships, in which he kicked four sublime goals against Western Australia.

AGREED... Get it done guys...
Imagine Heppell, Harper and Veszpremi at the club in the one draft.. Obviously Harper will be hard to get, as he is considered top 10-15 pick...

Just watched the highlights of Heppell on the AFL Combine website.

Im without doubt certain I want the tigers to draft him! Ive started a prayer group so he does fall to us!!
Can anyone tell me what this blokes personality is like?

Just looking at who Hardwick has recruited seems like he wants bloke who have their heads firmly on the ground & aren't full of themselves.

TFLUA, Viv is an interesting one, has really good skills and can go foward and kick a goal. good modern day HFF type, can rotate through the middle and is dangerous when rotated through the foward line as well.

Viv Michie is a realistically a top 30 pick I reckon... was very very close to being one of the 12 Gold Coast under agers signed last year.

Yeah - I really like him.

A lot to work with.

Off topic GTF - which club did you play for this season?
