Yeah I was hoping one of Green, Lynch, Jacobs or Prestia would fall to us, in that order.

When you have a low pick in the 2nd round I think it's best just to go best available as someone who was considered a first rounder always slips through.

I'm not sure Jacobs is a pick that will eventuate even if he was available to us come draft day.

He promised so much last year off half back but not much unlike wilson failed to take that next step up to the wing or to a stage where he imposes himself on each game he plays.

He did have one game where he got 37 possessions but he just isn't consistent enough for mine and we also already have a good supply of damaging kicks coming off half back with Newman, Lids, Connors and to a lesser extent Tambling who has been earmarked for the role next year by Hardwick.

I really hope someone like Green, Lamb or Newton falls through come draft day.

Yeah Spluff he is another one I would consider. Definitely knows how to find it and has pace and intensity. Bit of a Smokie I think.

I was just about to bring Jacobs up as a second round option.

I would be pretty happy to get him in the second round as his kick is elite and he finds the pill. I understand however we have alot of that type of player but by selecting him you can release Connors and or Deledio into the midfield and have him on the HBF with Tambling.

Hey TFLUA, just wondering if you have any opinions about the following players:

Anton Hamp
Aaron Young
Arryn Siposs
Daniel Farmer
Alex Fasolo
Jon Ceglar

I found these write ups on Ceglar and others by coincidence in this article written for the lead up to the TAC cup finals which start this week end. I wont be able able to attend this weekend of finals but I hope to make it down to a few games next weekend

Jonathon Ceglar—He is probably the best ruckman in the TAC Cup with his tap work and marking a key feature of his game. At 200 centimetres his mobility is outstanding and he has a high work rate. He can often expose the opposition ruckman in the air and by his movement around the ground. When he is clunking the ball, he is almost unstoppable and he is probably Murray’s most important player.

Aaron Young—Plays predominantly as a medium forward who is equally good in the air as he is on the ground. He is a tough player who applies good frontal pressure to the opposition and he can kick goals to finish his work off. He is a creative player with good sideways movement and an appetite for the contest.

Daniel Farmer—A quick and smart player around goals. He is competitive in on-on-one contests and his kicking is first rate. He is a good mark for his height and a powerful kick, and has the potential to play as a forward out of the goal square or through the midfield. He plays many roles for the Dragons, and can be used in multiple positions.

There are other write ups on players like Harper, Gaff, Pitt and other other highly rated players if you or anyone else is interested in a read.

I found the player descriptions a bit unrealistic in that they seem reluctant to mention any negative aspects to a players game, But in the end the TAC are just trying to get the boys drafted so it is to be expected.

Thanks for that TV, really hoping that we can land Ceglar. Also impressed with Farmers write up, would be great having another elite kicking midfielder/HF to add to the rotation, especially with a later round pick which Farmer appears to be.

Harper sounds like the player we need, Though Lynch will be ideal for Jack, another pick in the top 15 would be ideal, Aaron Young i love and hopefully will be there with the 2nd pick

saw gaff play today, didnt look a pick 6 to be honest.
kinda downhill-skied

Tom Lynch played in that game and kicked 3 goals. How did he play. 196cm CHF. alot of people are saying he is climbing to be a top 8 pick
I would be interested in your thoughts

Young will be there but I don't think his kicking is what we're after. Atheletic and aggressive but at 29 I'd rather a Green, Fasolo (like him RT - smart, competent mid, well-rounded player) or Lamb for that small forward role.

Hey guys which foot does jacobs kick with as we need some more left footers.
Left-footer. Solid but slighty stodgy for me.

Now this is annoying - I just typed out this massive post addressing some comments/questions.

First off RT - I missed your post.

I rate Karnezis (who I took with my third pick) just higher than Young & Farmer who are medium forwards.

Fasolo will be a real consideration for the second round pick in the second mock, and Ceglar is a good tap ruckman, and can clunk a grab. Combine results I look on with particular interest.

TV - Rate Green top 20 - so would snaffle him up in an instant if there at 29.

RATD - think Jacobs can be a player as I believe he can become as dangerous in the midfield as he is off the HBF. It's that boot of his that sells him for me - it's penetrating, and a forwards dream to be leading up to.

That's the really short version of what I posted.

Daniel Gorringe anyone?
200cm 92 kg
Amazing mobile ruckman, almost acts as another midfields with freakish athleticism

Not sure about Gorringe , no idea where he is placed but this guy could slip.

If WC has pick 4 Gorringe maybe not as Cox, NN, then us most likely mid, then Ess defintely mid , Bris Mid due to Brennan, Selwood and Rischa departure and their Ruck stocks so Gorringe mightnt even go in the top 10. It may depend on GC.

It is these type of scenarios where we need to chase pick 11 etc. from Bris,Ess or GC more likely.

GC have 17 year olds 11 or so, 8 players targeting plus a couple of trades, 1,2,3,5,7 that is nearly 24 players of true quality. So you could argue it is in their interest to trade some of the 9,11,13,15 picks from a serious rationale perspective particulary as they want a quick impact for marketing. Maybe not all but some defintely come across as wise trades. The thing is AFL want GC to work more so GWS so the hype and interest in GWS increases in the Sydney market. So GC success is initially more important than GWS. GWS do not want to concentrated a list at the same age group despite the youth benefits simply because the team can easily become too dysfunctional as a group because there are too many competeing for the same timeslot so to speak. I really think The Tigers must trade to get GC picks in the 9-14 range if they can. I wouldn't be chasing hard some of these players who may leave Bris and Adelaide unless they fall in our lap from a value perspective. IN regards the latter I would only pick them up for future trade value as really our premiership window is in 6 years time. The thing is Richmond is surging so we can attract these players do to our young superstars of the comp emerging

would be more than happy to take gorringe if we hadnt taken vickery, not that i dont think he will make it, i just cant see him ever warranting a top 10 pick

We shouldn't take a ruck as our first pick, we're much better off picking up a gun mid and then developing a ruck in a later draft pick.

Ah no he won't, if Suns dont use pick 3 they definatley will use pick 5 if west coast dont pick him (mad if they dont) arguably the best Tall in the Draft, there is no doubt how good this bloke is, if he slipped to pick 6 and we picked him up then we would have our future secured, our elite mids will get first use, then he can be used as a link up giant ruck rover type and he can rest in the forward line and be damaging,

if we let Gorringe go past pick 6 then i can bet my house on the fact that Big Footy will go into melt down on threads bagging our recruiters for not selecting him, This Kid will be a Champion.

Gorriege will not fall to us at pick 6. Too good a player, Clayton rates him best ruck outside afl.
Please if he is available at pick 6, we will not hesitate in picking him up.
We lack marking strength around the ground. He would also be best availble at pick 6.
We have more chance in Day slipping to us than Gorriege.
We still have issues with our ruck division. THink how highly ottens was rated as a junior and think Gorriege.

Head over to the Draft and Trading board and look up the Draft Watch thread of Gorringe. Lot's of people getting off him at the moment. To be honest, I haven't seen a lot of him, however, I don't think we are looking at a Ruckman with our first pick.
Also, really hoping that we trade into picks 10-15 so that we can have a crack at Harper :)

Gorringe would want to be more like Kruezer or NicNat than Vickery if we're going to go down that road again with our first pick....personally I doubt it and I hope we don't....you just need a competative, fairly mobile ruckman, they don't have to be a Sandilands or Ottens...there's really no need to go blowing your first pick hoping for the next ones...I can at least take comfort in the fact that as far as I know , none of Gorringe's rello's are currently employed by the RFC....:o
