Not as good below the knees as Pav. I would say he is not as flexible position wise.

However I do share your concern.

Yeah I don't know enough haven't seen any games live, but all the video footage looks pretty good of Darling, and he is starting to push into the midfield now.

I also like the look of Caddy - what are his weaknesses?

I think we will end up with pick 8 so people may need to revise their selections.
Brisbane won't win another game (they won't even beat Essendon this week) and I can see us beating Port, which means pick 8 instead of 6.

tugga is on the money, but we should still get a very good player at that pick.

aslong as whoever we pick isnt lazy and has good skills. id prefer a midfielder who is 185 cm plus.

Agreed. I think we will beat Port.
Brisbane have Essendon (Etihad) and Sydney (Gabba) to finish the year. They have a greater percentage than us, so we need them to win 1 of those games.. I think they will give the Swans a fair run up there...and will pinch the win.. Pick 6 will give us better choice (obviously), as I can't see all of Swallow, Bennell, Day, Gaff, Atley going in the first 5 picks.. Therefore, if we secure pick 6, we will end up with one of those listed...

If we get pick 8 we should be able to get a quality player,But it will take Atley and Gorringe out of the equation IMO. Polec, Harper, Smith and even Gaff may be available.

Would people be happy with Caddy or Smith? Being that thier strongest asset is the clearance ability?

Not sure we need more clearance players. Mainly looking for outside runners, with great disposal and decision making.
The next Nick Dal Santo would be nice.

*facepalm*

Want pick 6. Atley will be 100% gone by pick 8, maybe even a couple others in our sights. I want a better quality kid over a round 22 win I won't remember a few weeks later when the preseason comes.

Maybe Deledio and Martin need a rest in round 22. Lids arm has been troubling him all year, Martin a 1st year kid and is taking a battering under the packs weekly. ;)

Let's just hope Brisbane beat Essendon so we don't have to worry about it. Very unlikely though.

Agree.

I think we will beat Port although they have been playing ok lately so they may suprise us. Ideally Brisbane win this weekend and I think they are a big chance if Brown plays and its his 200th. That way we can win in rnd 22 with no downside.

Atley would be a very nice addition to the midfield.

Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, Foley, Atley is a FAB FIVE

Judging by the amount of players that have been put on the shelf and the selections over the last few weeks I'd suggest that Hardwick and co are well aware of what a win in the next 2 weeks means and are doing their level best to ensure that we don't.

I think they are just doing due dilligence and having a look at the list/giving players an opportunity.
eg: Goo had to get games this season
-O'Reilly's development will benefit from getting a taste. He'll be living on that experience all preseason. Going over every posession, action in his mind all summer.

2 more elite quality mids will ensure we have the best engine room in the game in 2-3 years. We want the best, not a very good one. I believe we are just about right in terms of stocks for talls, providing most of our young talls develop (i.e. post)

I agree. Would not midn seeing first 2 picks go on midfielders.

After that I would like to see a ruckman get drafted....and also trade for a decent HFF like Vezpremi!

Don't worry guys, just look at tomorrow's side against the Saints - no second ruckman, Post at CHF, Taylor and Astbury also on the forward line. Hardwick is expirementing and is already thinking of next year, so we will not win against Port either. Pick 6 is in the bag.

I wouldn't be so sure. We'll be at near full strength and the boys will want to send Cuz out on a high. I think we'll beat Port.

As for who we get with pick 6/8, Atley will be out of the equation at 8 and quite possibly at 6. Some people are massive wraps for Polec. I've said it before, I would love to see us nab Josh Toy from GC if it's true he's asked to be traded to a Melbourne club. Ideally we'd help them with their need for experienced players by trading them McGuane and Tuck for Toy and their 2nd/3rd rounder, holding onto pick 6/8, which for once I wouldn't mind seeing us trade (if we got Toy) if it got us Jackson Trengove and Port's 2nd rounder. Toy, Trengove and picks 27, 30, 31.:thumbsu: I don't know how feasible those suggestions are but it's what I'd be aiming for.

The BF practice phantom starts on Monday on the draft and trading boards apparently. Should be a good read.

Not a chance in hell gold coast would even consider that! We would get laughed out of the room!

While i would love a win in the final H and A, we wont beat Port. We have a pick to lose, Port has players playing for their lives. That's the difference. Another key mid, and ruckman would be what i'm hoping for.

lets just hope that brisbane get up for jonno's 200th game against the dons

i personally dont think we will win against the power either they will have alot to play for & primus will be going for every win whilst we will be resting, spelling ,booking players in minor surgery etc etc.

the only thing is cuz last game but hey wont make much diffrence to the end result.
