Hier could become far more than just a negating defender. Would not be surprised to see him develop into a powerful midfield type player in the future. Would be a steal for whichever club picks him up in the latter rounds of the draft.

Agreed. Zack has played everything in the ressies this year from fullback to midfield to ruck! Got his chance at full back in league and has been amazing but a huge prospect as a big midfielder.

190 cm, 88kg and the strongest 18 year old I've ever seen! Played senior footy in the country since he was 15. Has real leadership qualities too.

Only if clubs pick him up before the rookie draft. I would say there is a very high chance he will get picked up in the main draft and if not the PSD.

westhoff is a 100% spitting image of trent hentshel when he was 19. he looks great. turns on a dime like trent, is a good mark and impresses me with his kicking. quick off the mark, amazingly quick actually, from the 3 games ive seen of him this year. he's a goer.

With his body shape, I very much doubt he would be a KPP but could make a really good HFF/3rd tall type. One thing is for sure, he would be very difficult to match up on IMHO.

I think Hier has a body size more suited to being a true KPP, Westhoff looks a bit more like Bassett or Stevens.

Westhoff is 197cm, 84kg according to the advertiser last Saturday. Not sure how reliable these are, but they're the only measurements i've read anywhere.

Absolutely impressed with both of these lads. We will do no wrong if we pick either or both of them up.

Westhoff as Ive already said a few times around the forums is an excellent prospect, tick every box bar strength as he is a bit of a rake. If he was say 95+kg and kept his mobility he would be a top 10 prospect despite his age.

I have never seen a guy turn so easily, basically as mobile and agile as any flanker/winger/midfielder, doesn't have that lumbering style, he moves his legs quickly and keeps his centre of gravity low, and really harasses and chases well, good lead, excellent leaping mark even in packs, he appears from nowhere and uses his judgement of the flight of the ball rather than strength to take his marks and of course is a very good kick. Can go missing in games, but is generally a medium to high possession tall type, would be ideal as a decoy FF/FP to create matchup problems.

Get him to AFC, and lock him up in a weights room with a years worth of food and he'll be right.

As for Hier, god he has come on quick, I remember his SANFL debut well, was exceptional, I'd hardly seen the bloke play prior to this but certainly got my attention. Good size, reminds me of a stockier Nathan Bock, but is very good one on one and positions himself well and melds with the backline very well...for an 18yo playing a very difficult position he handles himself extremely well. Bulk him up to 94-95kg and we have another winner. Could be the next Craig Bolton from swans, ie not the tallest but does the job.
