Your list has been absolutely smashed because none of your decent players want to play for the club and you’ve been forced to gamble on kids.
North desperately wanted a KPP and will finish higher than bottom four next year so wanted to cash in and get a year into a player and you got lucky with right place, right time not Hartley “not blinking”.
Fixed it for you. Richmond made the best of a shit situation but the lengths you’ve gone to a spin a positive and intentional narrative are outrageous.
Because you've just won three flags? DerIf this is true, why are all our supporters so happy with what the club is doing?
There is little doubt that the decisions of Graham, D Rioli, Baker & Bolton to leave were joint decisions that suited all parties, so your view that the club had this forced on them is, imo, likely to be incorrect. Hartley and the club deserve credit for taking the road less travelled and giving themselves the best chance to build a team that can dominate in future.
The system. With a bit of help from Richmond, North, Carlton and Adelaide. The system won yet again.
The best kid in the draft cost 3 picks in the 40s.
Why do you say Carlton are "losers" in this draft? To me the clear winners were Richmond and Port Adelaide.
The clear losers Geelong , Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood.
And he'd have picked Aaron Francis v2.Dodoro wouldn't have been psyched out like that. There is a man prepared to stick to his guns
He's just liked and trusted by clubs. Doesn't give away their secrets, just takes what he needs. Very rare a journo has the trust of clubs.Biggest question is where does cal twomny get his sources from?
Our flag sides only had 3 top 10 picks that we drafted. You generally only get one crack at the elite end of the draft every 12 months. Everything of value was sold for this draft, unless you've got another Bolton/Rioli/Baker trio hidden away. Thanks to North it'll be a couple of cracks next year but then you're on the drip feed system. The success or failure of the 2024 draft will be the backbone of Richmond's rebuild, that's why I said they need to be the winners more than anyone else.
Hocking would demand that each team had at least one person standing in the war roomsNever thought I'd say this, but bring back Hocking
I think you gave up too much for pick 3 and Jagga Smith doesn't have as much upside to the other top 7 mids imo.Why do you say Carlton are "losers" in this draft?
To me they seemed to hit on two major needs the club had mentioned pre-draft (i.e., a POD mid and KPD depth to develop under Weitering). Picked up a nice ball user in defence in the rookie draft and the two Camporeale brothers for practically nothing.
I don't understand North's thinking trading away a future first for a second rounder
What Richmond did was smart and might pay huge rewards in a few years.
Losers
Collingwood - Got a player they may not have wanted when Sydney didn’t match their bid
I'm glad to see that your football opinions are as cooked as your political opinions. To me the clear winners were Richmond and Port Adelaide.
The clear losers Geelong , Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood.
I'm just here to see Richmond pick out every rock amongst a pan of gold.
Love the people using hindsight constantly with Essendon's pick. If we had pick 9 still, we would have lost it on Kako as we definitely would have matched and the criticism would have been higher. Made the best of a situation where you can only gain criticism.
At the end of the day, we got a top 10 pick, addwd two high picks next year. Picked big Kayle who could be Paul Salmon or Kepler Bradley and got an elite kick who can run all day in Angus Clarke.
The thing that immediately grabbed my attention here was the broadcaster mentioning "respective war rooms."
My immediate thought was I need a respective war room, they sound cool. You can only imagine my dismay when I googled respective war rooms for sale and couldn't find any respective war rooms anywhere. There don't seem to be any in existance, let alone listed for sale. So it seems the AFL clubs own the only respective war rooms in the world. What do you reckon they would want for them?
