if you are talking about Riewoldt, he is Nicks cousin not brother. I think youre right that Collingwood may go witha a tall since they have lost Taz.Mofra said:Lets not go to the brothers list at the Bulldogs...

Well then the only way to get the tall players required would be to trade quality midfielders which I don't think Rocket will do, so therefore the best bet is to use the draft. I'm just saying we should target kpp, if at pick 11 the best player is clearly a midfielder then take him, but I still think we need to pursue talls.Doggies05' said:I'm all for best available in this draft. Not a draft to take risks in. There is some huge quality that will fall through to us.
If Proud is available and Thorp and other top quality players are are not, id take Proud before Mckenzie or some otehr KPP.
Although i do believe that we have to try find a defender some time.. Drafting fwds isnt going to keep working. We currently have 6 young talls sitting on our list. Hoping that 1 or 2 atually work out.

If he falls through to 11, he may well be it.
matty n said:clayton collard is a gun he will be a very very good player was seen by south fremantle as being better than jetta and got promoted to the reserves and seniors before leroy, leroy gets noticed more cause of the flashy stuff he does in one game when i played against south freo he took a mark about thirty out in defensive 50 and ran the whole field dodging everyone and banged a goal from 50 it was amazing, havnt seen much of riewoldt but the choice should be between collard and riewoldt IMO and then take gary moss with our 3rd round pick
After viewing a few of the u18s games, one player who I believe Eade and Clayton would be looking seriously at as Tim Collier from Tassie. Tim's a tall quick versatile chb who has played fwd as well. He has a huge kick and is not afraid to take them on. Reminds me of a taller version of Shane Parker at Freo.localyokel said:Is anyone else terrified by the prospect of another tall Tasmanian on our list?
Our strike rate isnt real flash.
Reminds me of Parker more physically and running style then ability. I think you are a bit harsh on Parker.matty n said:shane parker is disgusting he is the worst player comparing a player to him is an insult
what about clinton benjiman last year over here in wa we all thought he was gonna go top 5

I am pleading ignorance with the number of main draft picks we have and list number rules.
Simple yes / no and number answers will suffice to my questions below:
Do we currently have pick 11 in rd 1, one pick in rd 3, two picks in rd 4 and one in rd 5? That is 5 picks in total?
Assuming you have no veteran players, how many players are you allowed on the main list?
We currently have 37 on our main list including four veterans. Are we allowed to discount any of the veterans from our main list numbers? If so, how many?
Much appreciated!!
Rocco Jones said:We currently have 3 picks at 11, 45 and 61. We got pick 66 via a trade, that means we have to use it (unless rule has changed), so we have to de-list at least one more player.
List wise-
-There's main list of 38
- 6 additional players, consisting of rookies and veterans. Only 2 veterans are allowed as part of this. 2 veterans means you can have a maximum of 4 rookies, 1 veteran means you have 5 rookies, 0 veterans means you can have 6 rookies
- Allowed 3rd and 4th veteran but they must count as part of the 38.
- Allowed 44 all up (Swans and Lions are allowed more rookies).
We currently have:
- List of 35 (including 2 veterans).
- 3rd and 4th veteran.
We have room for 3 more players on main list and 4 rookies ATM.

Two clarification questions:
Can we not pass on pick 61 and then use pick 66?
If Clayton wants 5 picks do we have to delist a further two players?
Cheers

"lachlan button...has just reached the 200cm mark weighs in around 98kg. great tap ruckman, also with superb hands from glenelg, with reserves experience. good defence mind always running back to help out defence and is a more than handy target up forward and good on the lead. played u18's and did the state screening in SA. is definitely worth a look after dominating school footy at Sacred Heart for the past two yrs wer he was seriouslt not ever beaten."
sounds like a clayton late pick if I ever heard one.
