One thing is certain: Every coach and recruitment manager will say"A fantastic result for us today, much better than we hoped"!

I still remember Wallace a couple of years ago spruiking about not only getting Deleidio but getting Tambling as well. He couldn't believe that Hawthorn & the dogs overlooked this guy? I can, Griffin and Roughead will be MUCH better players long term than Tambling!!

Burgatron has us picking Leroy Jetta with our first selection.

Not familiar with the players he has given us for the later rounds.

How would be people feel about us taking Jetta? Would you rather a KPP?

We desperately need a decent KPP. We have a few try hards and 'might bes' in the pipe line, but nothing significant has changed there. If one of the guarenteed gun KPPs slips to 11 (dont ask me how) Clayton will pick him Im sure.

Otherwise, I kind of like the idea of a blistering fast, super evasive midfielder - the kind that can break a game wide open and theres nothing really the opposition can do about it - like a judd, or mcleoud during his prime, or ackermanis...hey wait, we have an ackermanis!

Burgatron states that Mitch Thorp could slip to 11. That would be an absolute steal for us IMO.

i really want sellar but whats his names mock draft has him going at pick 6. will everyone be ok with us picking up a migit midfielder? we need a kpp, are there anymore with out later pick we can get? and if we do get jets, we will be praying for williams, darcy and walsh to have a solid season, they are our real key possie players that we need.

burgatron seems to have some sort of knowledge of what clubs are thinking - he was scary close to collingwoods 'suprise' selections of thomas and pendlebury last year. And he thinks we will be delighted to land jetta.

after the first round its pretty much a raffle - but he has us taking 5 smalls? Not one tall in this 'tall' draft? Hugely unlikely! at least 2 of our late picks will be talls, especially if we take jetta with our first pick.

Yeah - in regards to what he sees as our 'needs' - Burgatron is a long, long way off.

We'll pick up at least 2 KPP's. A ruckmen and a CHF/CHB type.

5 Smalls? No chance.

How do people rate Jetta? A lot seem to think he's just a 'pocket rocket' and could slip into the 20's. For mine, I'd rather go with a quality tall OR an inside midfielder.

Jetta is explosive.

A million times better than Tambling and would be a good chance to play round 1 next year despite his size.

He's an absolute gun.

Where in the long term would he play?

Midfield, or due to size, forward pocket type?

And how would he compare to some of the inside midfielders that possibly will be around our pick?

I wouldnt mind him if he lives up to the hype - Id love to have one of those players on the forward line where everyone is on the edge of their seat (and the opposition supporters are crapping themselves) every time he gets near the ball.

not many kids have the nous or engine to play midfield out of the box, especially if they are flyweights like Jetta. He would be lining up as a forward if he debuted next year.

If we pick up Jetta it sounds like it will put more pressure on Robbins.
thats not a good thing... robbo will be safe though, eade loves him.
wat if young jack riewaolt or how ever u spell the name slips to number 11. surely we should pick him up. looked the goods this yr in the vfl.
i would rather jets than reiwoldt, they said nick has better agility than him, and has about 5 cm on him, and that hes no where near as good as cousin. if he wasnt a reiwoldt do you think he could slip into the late 20's?

I wouldn't know Jetta from Fetta but being a regular reader, I do know that Doctor and mjp know their stuff. If they say he's a gun, thats good enough for me.

If Burgatron is right and we do get Jetta and Hogan, how exciting is 2007 going to be?
Imagine adding Jetta, Hogan, Akermanis and Murphy to already the quickest side in the comp?

How many more sleeps again?

Hes not so big yet, but i spose hes only 17/18, so hes still got time to grow.

As for being not as good as Nick, well Nick is a gun, and if ur half the player Nick is you probably will be alright.

Still not worth our pick 11 IMO.

I think he will go towards the top end of the draft. Played some impressive senior football late this year, and although not as athletic as Nick, who is?

1 more day till we know...haha.

If Clayton (and more importantly Doc) thinks Jetta's a gun, that's good enough for me.

Hogan, though? Well, he can run a long way.

Give me a medium sized guy that can play over a speculative tall any day. Not too sure if I like the very short players though. I was told that Roden was a gun in the TAC level.

heres an intriguing one: ruckman shaun hampson from Qld. First I ever heard about him in burgatrons draft, saying collingwood was all over him, and a strong chance at pick 10.

200cm, 93 kilos, sub 3 second 20m, top 5% of players tested for vertical jump - having played only 2 years of AFL after switching from ...soccer!

Sounds like a Clayton 'smokie' except that he is not a smokie.

I don't know the players but the idea that we must go for even more speed (for the sake of it) is not what I hope we do.

I want a tough inside player who has fierce determination and leadership qualities. Attitude is everything, given most other things are roughly equal. Higgins type. Cross type....but more a ruck rover in build.

Control the middle and we can use our pace. Not control the middle and we are found wanting.

Fairly simple, I would have thought.

Getting someone with pace just eases out someone else. Would that make a huge difference to us?

My belief is we need a tougher, stronger player (with balance and poise) rather than just a faster one. But I guess if we go for speed then we will know what the game plan is for the future. And we have to put our belief in Clayton and Rocket knowing that what they are doing will work.

Maybe Griffen can do the job but he looks more skilful than tough.

Just as an aside, whose idea was it that we got Davidson? That didn't work.

Guys, there is more hype to Riewoldt than ability. Was very ordinary at the u18s other than a 10 minute purple patch in the last quarter of the first game. Any form shown in the VFL is not a true indication as even Kieran McGuinness looked a reasonable player at that level. May turn out to be a serviceable player but in my opinion not worth pick 11. Not convinced about Sellar either. One of the big Queenslanders appeals more as they have more upside at the moment as they are still fairly young and still learning the game.
