I know (well, I guess) it isn't your quote Stefoid, but 'dominating school footy'? In Adelaide I am assuming? Give me a break. School footy in Victoria is way below TAC level - where do you think school footy in Adelaide would rank? And when you consider that the quote seems to have been typed by one of the guys school mates...

Has anyone seen this kid play by any chance?? I know we have a few South Australian posters - surely one of them follows Glenelg! For a 200cm ruckman who is also a quality key back and a leading forward I have not seen or heard much of him...

there was a kid called will minson who played ruck for sacred heart that nobody ever heard of. we picked him up with a 2nd round pick!

clayton said he wanted lots of picks - after pick 11 we have a 3rd rounder, two 4ths and a 5th. He must have about 10 potential kids targeted to use those late picks on. All Im saying is I wouldnt be suprised if one of them was Button.

Scotty C does love a darky from SA... Harris, Minson, ... late picks and South Aussies... that's what Scotty C has on his list of must haves.

I would be happy to take another very good young midfielder at 11. I think Eade will back himself in now with the young talls we have and try and add another young midfielder to the side. The only old tall we have is Grant, but we just lost Birss and Smith and Aker and Westy will only be around for another 3 years probably, Eagle will be in his 30's by then and we are still waiting for Ray to re-sign.

Another top line midfielder will come in very handy in 3 years when the kid is ready to play senior footy.

yes i was thining the same thing, we have the backline covered with talls:
harris 195
morris 191
wight 200
willams 196

and now that we got mcdougall hopefully he can show his worth and play some good footy.

so id say go for another midfielder

Eade mentioned that they were interested in a midfielder (Jetta)

WHat are your thoughts about that???

I think that would be absolutely outstanding. Certainly an incredible talent who - it has fair to say - has been marking time over the last couple of years waiting for his career to start. Can seriously play.

He is below the Bulldogs height limit though (185cm), so I would be very, very surprised to here his name get called.

its not really how many talls/smalls we have on the list. We have lots of both. But most of the smalls are proven performers whereas most of the talls arent. The risk is mostly with the talls.

hopefully we wont be out of the finals for the next couple of seasons at least, so our draft picks wont be getting any better. This draft represents our best chance to secure a qaulity tall for some time.

There is a risk, but Eade and Clayton wouldn't have drafted these young talls unless they believed they would be able to contribute at senior level, and if they can play then we are going to need more good smalls before we need talls again.

Lets just take the best available talant at number 11. If its Jetta great. If its McKenzie wonderful.....so long as its the best available for that pick. I reckon there will be some surprises in this draft. I think whilst the top 3 or 4 are settled you could throw a blanket over the next 20.

i guess so

whats everyones thoughts on seller? where do you think he will end up bc if hes available at 11 hes ours! will he go before 11 bc somepeople have him down as ours and some say in top 6.

I think we'll go for the best available talent at 11, which hopefully is a Michel Voss sized player with similar temperament and leadership skills. But I can't imagine that we'll go after tall lumbering types for the sake of it. I think Rocket will want mobility and adaptability in taller players, even if they aren't quite as tall as we would like..... The punt is whether the player turns out to be what you expect. So a tenacious attitude and desire, and again, natural leadership should be a key ingredients for mine. Higgins seems to have what we want in a young footballer.

An article that ran in The Sunday Mail down here had it's own draft predictions. It wasn't that accurate, more so for Crows / Power supporters, as it had us passing on our later picks after selecting 3 players.

However it predicted us to take Eric Mackenzie with the first pick, and a young South Australian whom I was not too familiar with, James, with our second pick, a name that hasn't appeared anywhere at all really that I've seen.

James played U/19's for South Adelaide this season, not too sure if he played any League or reserves, but most likely he would have progressed to that. If anyone has any info on him I'd be interested to see it.

I'm still not certain we'll go tall. I think it may even depend on how Williams foot and ankle region is looking by Saturday, and how likely it is of him playing a role of some description at some stage. Getting close now!

Also OS - this mock draft had Renouf going top 10, which I found quite surprising. Sounds like his stock must be rising quite a lot, so good pick up by you.

You never know what will happen though...last year all the phantom drafts had Shaun Higgins at number 6 going to the Hawks and then we got him for an absolute steal at 11. I hope the teams in front of us let another one through.

Burgatron has us picking Leroy Jetta with our first selection.

Not familiar with the players he has given us for the later rounds.

How would be people feel about us taking Jetta? Would you rather a KPP?
