Trengove was never going to slip to our second pick and was always going to be a risk even with these medical reports, I personally had him slipping late 20's.

I could see Lisle being used as Blake type actually if he works on his fitness, holding down a KP back position or going forward if needed, so I've been warming to him.

What sort of player are you?
Predominately I play on the ball, rover. I don’t mind pushing forward to a forward flank. In the national championships I probably changed on the ball, and for the Bushrangers and my school I pretty much play on the ball, swapping up forward.

Strengths?
Maybe agility and leg speed, but probably my skills and speed off the mark.

Weaknesses?
Work rate and trying to get to as many contests as possible

Which AFL team do you support?
I don’t like saying this much of the time, but Richmond. :D:thumbsu:

Which AFL player do you feel you most resemble?
I probably just try to take the good attributes of most players … maybe a Shane Crawford or someone like that. Someone who plays on the ball and likes to go down forward and kick a couple of goals.

According to the BigFooty experts, has Brad Fisher written all over him.

Hmm Fisher has gone backwards though. Has always been able to take a lovely grab, but his kicking, whether at goal or in play is disgraceful.

I'm sure you all know about my passion for Sam Blease here my brothers. It's a difficult one. Last year I doubt McEvoy would have gone at 9, he only did because we had that pick and we needed a ruckman. I want someone who can make an immediate impact. Hence I leaning towards Yarran. Blease may find it difficult to last a whole season with his light frame.

If we want immediate impact - Ben Cousins,
When drafting young guys I prefer to pick players that will benefit the club the most over the long term.
( No problems if we end up with too many key position players, especially rucks , look at the interest in McIntosh and Warnock during trade week ).

Draft countdown: Luke Shuey

Today's headlines

Luke Shuey

DOB: 02/06/90
Height: 185cm
Weight: 84kg
Club: Oakleigh Chargers

Shuey is an inside midfielder who excels at stoppages and has good ball-winning ability. He has pace and can go forward with good effect. A Vic Metro under-18 representative in 2008. From Marcellin College.

What sort of player are you?
I'm generally an inside player and I don't run with the ball that much. I play midfield. I generally rest forward with Oakleigh and also my school team [Marcellin College].

Strengths?
My clearance work and aerobic capacity are my two main strengths.

Weaknesses?
I've been told I've got to start kicking a few goals as a midfielder. I've also been told to get my speed under three seconds for 20m. I ran a 2.94 [at the NAB AFL Draft Camp], but those two areas.

Which AFL team do you support?
I'm a Melbourne supporter.

Which AFL player do you feel you most resemble?
I model my game around Nathan Jones. I do most of my work inside and I've got a bash-and-crash game. I like that stuff and I look up to him.

okay guys this is how i went in the Official Phantom Draft on the D&T board..

St.Kilda - Bourky23
Pick 13 - Lewis Johnston - KP Forward - 192cm, 87kg - North Adelaide, SA

Pick 47 - Jamie Sheahan - Midfielder - 178cm, 73kg - Murray Bushrangers, Vic

Pick 48 - Jordan Jones - KP Defender/Third Tall - 190cm, 90kg - Geelong Falcons, Vic

Pick 62 - Kade Klemke - Small Defender - 180cm, 78kg - Murray Bushrangers, NSW

Pick 74 - Ben Cousins - Saviour - 179cm, 87kg - West Coast/Free Agent

Pick 83 - Alex Silvagni - KP Defender - 192cm, 92kg - Casey Scorpions, Vic

overall i was reasonably happy with how i went.. took Lewis Johnston at pick 13 because he was too good to pass up and i think he could begin his career at HFF and be a great linkman (Ryan O'Keefe type role) before developing into a real pure CHF.. all of our picks can have immediate impact yet still have ton's of improvement in them (bar cousins of course)

would love to hear your thoughts guys:thumbsu:

Can't argue there with you Bourky... that would be a damn good result.

Personally I'd go with a mid at 13 with Swift or Yarran if available although Johnstone would definitely fit a huge hole. I suspect Johnstone will be a Crow after Craig said they would be after key forwards.

One thing for sure it will be an interesting few hours that will hopefully see the Saints with a draft crop to rival 2001. Still can't believe we traded our 2nd rounder.... if Heyne goes to the Dogs at 31 I will be ropeable!

mate, there will be critical damage inflicted on the nearest objects to me if that happens:mad:

i've pretty much conceeded we won't get him now because of where our picks are but if he goes where our second rounder was i'll be mighty annoyed!

What sort of player are you?
This year I’ve started to go down back a bit, so I’m a bit of a running half-back flanker. But I like to go into the midfield a bit and get amongst it. Last year I played predominately midfield and swapping up forward. I hadn’t really played [in the] backline before.

Strengths?
I like to think I’m good on both sides of my body.

Weaknesses?
I suppose I can build myself up a bit, and get a bit more bulk. I also need to get a bit more accountable for my man.

Which AFL team do you support?
The Bombers. I went there for a week (Sidebottom is a member of the AIS/AFL Academy) and that was really good.

Which AFL player do you feel you most resemble?
I don’t really know. Lindsay Gilbee goes pretty well down in the backline and he’s really good on both sides of his body.

Do not want, purely because his name is so ridiculous. Would be embarrassing to barrack for him, 'Go Steele!' 'Carn Sidebottom' either way...

Also shares the last name as a Pommy cricketer so that's a double whammy right there.

Anyone Know why Shane Birss didnt nominate for the draft. Out of all our boys that we delisted i thought he was the most talented so it was a surpise not too see his name on the list where rix fiora and charlie all had

Gary and Allan Sidebottom?

I dunno who they played, but I think a small forward kicking 10 goals for anyone is pretty decent.

Not saying he's gonna be a gun, but I wouldn't be disappointed if we picked him up. Not that I think he'll still be there at pick 13.

When he was on SEN shortly after he was delisted he said that he had felt the vibe during the year and had gotten Nixon to put out the feelers to see if there was any interest. I can only assume there was none.

Did Attard nominate?
