It has to be an issue, as there seems to be some genetic disposition to certain injuries, shared by brothers

Menzels - ACL
Mitch and Nathan Brown - ACL's
Jack and Dylan Grimes - hammies

Might be more. Selwoods getting cut eyes doesn't count!

If there's a player you are keen on, but his brother has suffered a serious injury, surely it'd be a matter prompting caution?

The Brown's have more merit than others for mine because of the whole twins thing.

I can just imagine the scneario...
Kid is rated, does well through U18s...
Goes through a medical with flying colours...
Then his older brother pops a knee
And the younger one gets dropped like a hot spud.... "we couldn't find anything wrong with you, but..."

Is the OP serious that this would be considered?

Not dropped like a hot spud, but if it was 50/50 between that bloke and another kid without a brother with a similar knee history, then it would have to be a factor considered, given the above links that seem to be evident

If the younger brother did an ACL before draft time as in Menzel it would definitely impact their draft position.

I will put a rider on this - If the ACL was an impact injury it will have no impact on draft position.

Soft tissue injuries would have no impact.

The thing that will help him is the level he's played at post injury. He's only gotten better since.
