"Dragons to be a powerhouse next season"
Is what was stated by the creator of the Shagons, Pie 4 life. After an off season of magnificent recruiting, the Shagons seem set for a bigger and better season then last year.

Pie 4 life also stated "At this rate we could have two teams" underlining the success of the Southern Dragons recruiting this off-season.

Interview with Pie 4 Life by Drewsy

DR: What do you think about the new recruits?
P4L: I believe that over the off-season we have built a strong base of players to go forward next season and all of them will play a part in our 2010 campaign.

DR: Are the recruits active posters?
P4L: All are active and ready for a big 2010 season.

DR: Who will be the suprise packets for 2010?
P4L: I think Zainta will become an elite player in the league next season, while Cormick and the middle tier players will continue to improve, and then any of the new players could be stars, but only time will tell.

DR: Who has worked the hardest over the off-season to get the team up and running?
P4L: Everyone has played a part, as you know i pmed you and got you over along with a couple of others, Ljp has managed to find a few and continues to keep looking for a few, Zainta has found BBB, and in turn BBB found a few more which is great to see

DR:Any chance of 2 sides?
P4L: Well in theory to have two "Southern Dragons" sides would be an interesting concept, hard to see it implemented and it would give us a one in five chance of winning the comp, but who knows what the future holds.

DR:What is going to be the key to the Shagons in 2010?
P4L: Posters continually posting rather than many going missing in a season, i'd love to have a low turnover rate at the end of the season.

DR: Big Bad Buddy, what's your thoughts on him?
P4L: Don't really know him that well, seems a decent bloke from what i've talked to him, certainly is doing a great job luring posters to the Dragons.

DR: Who are going to be the Shagons competition this up and coming season?
P4L: Well those filling out 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th would probably be the Furies, Bombers, Wonders and Hawks i would imagine,
we're clearly the top 5 sides overall.

DR:
What about the other clubs?
P4L: Demons may move up a couple of spots as they cant be crap forever, Mod Squad will be average again, while the Roys are an unknown.

I assume the Gumbies will be culled.
But if they arent, they will be probably somewhere in the bottom half, hell even the Demons look a bit more spirited at the moment.

DR: Finally, tips for Mobbenfuhrer medal, EKA medal, Goal kicking, Deestroy medal, Frankston Rover medal, premiers and runners-up.

P4L:
Mobbenfuhrer: Zainta
EKA: Any of the new dragons.
Goal kicking: Okey
Franston rover: Doggies (the only admin)
Deestroy : Ljp86
Premiers: Dragons
Runners-up: Bombers

Thankyou to Pie 4 Life for his time.

Other news for Shagons players,
The Shagons training starts tomorrow so everyone get there if you can.

I like your pick for the Mobb Medal, but I'd much rather see LJ go back to back. A premiership medal (or 20) is enough for me!

Bombers, Hawks, Dragons and Furies

The fourth one is debatable, but if you have a look at the Furies thread on the Richmond board, their activity is quite impressive

We had a very good season in '09... despite our poor finals series we were arguably the best side in the competition.
I reckon most of the boys from last season will be as good (if not better) and the improvement will come from the new players.

Did very well in the H&A series and choked big time in the Final Series.

6 straight Finals appearance in 8 seasons. 4 GF appearance and 3 GF win.

2010 Premiership here we come!
Excellent side, we have had many good battles in past seasons.

OT, this is a good article that shows a growth in the SFA.

Good to see. :thumbsu:
