If both Mundy and Balla are fit, yes, they add a lot to the team. However they've both been down in form, whether that's whole games or part games, and I'm putting that down mostly to their injuries. Not carrying injured players means you are at least going to put a fit team on the park who can run out a game.

WTF!!!

I cannot believe Freo Fans could even suggest we take the 2 points. Are you freaking kidding me. Even if we lose the game we cannot fall out of the 8. The risk vs reward is far greater playing the game and going for the 4 points.

If we win this week then that will be 2 wins in a row with the next 2 games at home against Brisbane and GC, both games are ones that we can win. If we win those then we head in to the bye on the back of 4 wins in a row.

We should have some 1st team players back around the bye (Sandi, Balla, Hayden, Silvagni) with McPhee and Suban possibly due back just after the bye. This would give us good momentum to build upon for the back half of the season only needing another 3 wins from 8 games to get to the magical 12 wins normally required to play finals football. We have some big games against top 8 opponnents after the bye so building confidence and getting 1st team players back is essential in setting a run to September

17: Sydney (Away)
18: E-Girls (Home)
19: Hawks (Home)
20: Saints (Away)
21: Carlton (Home)

Edit: Forgot to mention that winning at the G will be great for team confidence as well.

This thread is dreadful. How can anyone suggest giving up a game just for 2 points? Fair dinkum, it's an outrageous suggestion

With Barlow back, the gloom I've been feeling this season starts to lift a little and it could be enough to see Freo win (which is what us Melbourne-based fans deserve for a change as opposed to the usual heartbreak)

4 points everyday of the week

:thumbsu: Top post......agree on all points. The cluelessness around this place is staggering at times.......

Freo don't do draws. They handed us one once, and we appealed. They revoked it. They just aren't our gig.

Yet people think that it's in our best interest to have take the 2 points and have a bye it's proven time and time again this year that nothing kills momentum more than having a bye.

We rested half our best 22 in round 21 last year then played really well the following week with a fresh playing group. In the front half of the season the bye robbed teams of momentum but I wouldn't be surprised to see more wins than losses coming off the bye from here on.

I'm happy with a draw.

You know what they say about draws, its like kissing your sister. Thank god I have a hot sister.

She is hot, Im spewing she dumped me:(

I would take the chances of getting a game in the MCG that the draw. Our season is on the line. I still think the players will fly there. Probrably fly from perth to Adelaide then take the 8 hour bus from Adelaide to Melbourne!

As of right now were 6 and 5. my gut felling is that we will be 8 and 6 when we lose to the demons and Beat the lions and suns at home.

So from round 17-21 we hopefully get 3 wins to make it 11 and 8 by round 21. we need 12 wins pinch a spot in the 8.

Then our last 3 games are....

round 22: North Melboure at ethiad (Probrably our best chance for a win)

round 23 Collingwood at Subi (depsite being at home a slim chance for a win)

round 24: Bulldogs at ethiad (If it comes down to winning this game to make the 8 I will be scared!)
