Agree re the travel tv shows - would be fantastic to get paid to travel the world.
From what I have read they don't have it so sweet. Spend **** all time in each place and on the go the whole time.

Travel writer would be better.

I'm a bit of an amateur biologist. I love animals. I'd love to travel the world observing all different kinds of animals, insects, birds etc etc

Sporting journalist/critic.
They get paid (shitloads) to do what I like to do as recreation; talk smack about a variety of inane issues in their chosen sporting field.

This.

100k+ to be a sports blogger thanks.

Heard that's even shitter. No support staff, limited money for expenses, extreme deadlines forcing you to do bullshit reviews.

Yeah, another for travel writer I suppose. Maybe in the Dickens mould.

I'd like to move into the more antiquarian side of bookselling, but I can't see that happening any time soon, it kills me enough when I buy shitty books for stock that I want. I'd be hopeless if I was going to get beautiful old editions purely to sell on.

Do you own a store? Online?

I don't think it's that great to be honest. I'd love to be a writer on Grantland but on most other sites it's all about being a pest, getting information and being the first to break the story resulting in you looking like a tool, idiot or genius.

I guess the pay would be okay. I'd love to be a sports GM. Running my own team. How awesome. The only negative I can think of is that you end up viewing the team basically as a bunch of stats and so on. I doubt those who run teams/work the lists ever sit back and admire their work. They're always planning ahead.

Oooo yes a GM.
I'd take my Sactown to the top by securing some perimeter defenders and Taj Gibson :P

RAAF Pilot. These blokes have the life, and fly multi million dollar machines for a quid. Hard gig I know, plenty of continuous study and repetition to get your systems right, but I sit here from my office window and watch Hercs take off and fly around the Hawkesbury and wish I was doing the same. And that's only cargo airframes, imagine being a fighter pilot! Would be difficult walking around with a hard on all day though.

You got a bookstore mate? I wouldn't mind somewhere other than A&R/Dymocks to buy.
