Thought I'd give The Killers a crack as they were my favourite band for a long time. Definitely more of a challenge compared to Two Door Cinema Club looking at 4 albums compared to 2.
Intro
1. Enterlude/When You Were Young
2. Somebody Told Me
(Simple theory, just hit them hard to start off with again. I decided to combine Enterlude and When You Were Young, I know they occasionally play them one after the other anyway. Two of their best known songs to start off with).
3. Human
4. Spaceman
5. For Reasons Unknown
6. Midnight Show
7. I Can't Stay
8. Losing Touch
9. Bling (Confessions of a King)
(The meat and potatoes of the set. I tried to keep the vibe pretty upbeat and energetic from Human down to Midnight Show. I've used I Can't Say to Bling (Confessions of a King) to mellow things out a little)
Acoustic
10. Miss Atomic Bomb (acoustic)
11. A Dustland Fairytale (acoustic)
12. Sam's Town (acoustic)
(Decided to throw in an acoustic part to the set for the sake of it and I think a few Killers songs lend themselves well to acoustic versions. Sam's Town can be used to slowly re-introduce a more energetic feel back to the set)
Close 1
13. Read My Mind
14. Smile Like You Mean It
15. Runaways
(No particular reason for having these 3 for the initial close. They're just 3 of my favourite Killers songs that should engage the crowd. I like Runaways as a closing song, catchy chorus to get the crowd singing along at this point).
Encore
16. All These Things That I've Done
17. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine
18. Mr. Brightside
(Shouldn't come as any surprise that 3 Hot Fuss songs were chosen for the encore (although When You Were Young is a good choice also). 3 of their best songs, All These Things That I've Done to ease into and build up the encore, Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine to keep the energy up and Mr. Brightside is probably their most recognisable and popular song so seems a good choice to end with)
Breakdown:
Hot Fuss - 6
Sam's Town - 5 (6 if you split Enterlude and When You Were Young)
Day & Age - 5
Battle Born - 2
It's actually a more even breakdown between their first 3 albums than I expected, I'm not a massive fan of Battle Born so was never really going to use too many songs from it. I'll always think that Hot Fuss is their best album, reflected in 4/5 final songs coming from there and one of the intro songs coming from there also.
