Thought I'd give The Killers a crack as they were my favourite band for a long time. Definitely more of a challenge compared to Two Door Cinema Club looking at 4 albums compared to 2.

Intro
1. Enterlude/When You Were Young
2. Somebody Told Me
(Simple theory, just hit them hard to start off with again. I decided to combine Enterlude and When You Were Young, I know they occasionally play them one after the other anyway. Two of their best known songs to start off with).

3. Human
4. Spaceman
5. For Reasons Unknown
6. Midnight Show
7. I Can't Stay
8. Losing Touch
9. Bling (Confessions of a King)
(The meat and potatoes of the set. I tried to keep the vibe pretty upbeat and energetic from Human down to Midnight Show. I've used I Can't Say to Bling (Confessions of a King) to mellow things out a little)

Acoustic
10. Miss Atomic Bomb (acoustic)
11. A Dustland Fairytale (acoustic)
12. Sam's Town (acoustic)
(Decided to throw in an acoustic part to the set for the sake of it and I think a few Killers songs lend themselves well to acoustic versions. Sam's Town can be used to slowly re-introduce a more energetic feel back to the set)

Close 1
13. Read My Mind
14. Smile Like You Mean It
15. Runaways
(No particular reason for having these 3 for the initial close. They're just 3 of my favourite Killers songs that should engage the crowd. I like Runaways as a closing song, catchy chorus to get the crowd singing along at this point).

Encore
16. All These Things That I've Done
17. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine
18. Mr. Brightside
(Shouldn't come as any surprise that 3 Hot Fuss songs were chosen for the encore (although When You Were Young is a good choice also). 3 of their best songs, All These Things That I've Done to ease into and build up the encore, Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine to keep the energy up and Mr. Brightside is probably their most recognisable and popular song so seems a good choice to end with)

Breakdown:
Hot Fuss - 6
Sam's Town - 5 (6 if you split Enterlude and When You Were Young)
Day & Age - 5
Battle Born - 2

It's actually a more even breakdown between their first 3 albums than I expected, I'm not a massive fan of Battle Born so was never really going to use too many songs from it. I'll always think that Hot Fuss is their best album, reflected in 4/5 final songs coming from there and one of the intro songs coming from there also.

The White Stripes

Big Opening
1. Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground
2. Hypnotize
3. Hotel Yorba
4. Fell in Love with a Girl

Start it loud, fast and frenetic. Essentially the start of White Blood Cells haha.

Big but slower

5. The Hardest Button to Button
6. House of the Rising Sun - brilliant cover

Maintain the heavy.

Softer
7. I'm Bound to Pack it Up
8. Apple Blossom

De Stijl - massively underrated album. Two tracks to strip it right back, from the old catalogue.

Bluesy - Jack gets on the piano

9. I'm Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely Yet) - with big singalong
10. My Doorbell
11. The Denial Twist

Get Behind Me time

12. Death Letter - Jack gets back on the guitar, but sticking with the bluesy theme, building up to the big finish!

The Big Finish
13. Conquest
14. Black Math
15. Ball and Biscuit

Conquest is very singalongable, Black Math is just a fun track, and Ball and Biscuit is just special.

-------

Encore

16. Jolene
17. Blue Orchid
18. Seven Nation Army

Just a huge finale. Sing alongs a plenty. Plenty of heavy guitar when needing, banging drums, and great riffs. Could keep Seven Nation tight, or could drag it out for 10+ minutes, play with the crowd a bit etc..

ALBUMS:
The White Stripes 0 - bit disappointing, but my preference lies in other albums, and other songs.
De Stijl 3
White Blood Cells 3
Elephant 5
Get Behind Me Satan 4
Icky Thump 1 - not a huge fan of the album TBH
+ Jolene
+ House of the Rising Sun

Hand in glove.
Panic.
Reel around the fountain.
You've got everything now.
Well I wonder.
Half a person.
Stretch out and wait.
This charming man.
William,it was really nothing.
Frankly mr shankly.
What difference does it make.
Meat is murder.
This night has opened my eyes.
I know it's over.
Bigmouth strikes again.

Cemetery gates.
I want the one I can't have.
There is a light that never goes out.

Ball Park Music

I doubt they'd play any songs from those first two EPs ever again (maybe Sea Strangers considering it was a single) but it was fun to have them in there nonetheless.

They played Sea Strangers at the forum last year. The also played Glass Towers with MMMMM Bop kicking in just after each chorus.

Can't wait till they release their next album. Very entertaining band live, just have a ridiculous amount of good, catchy and easy to sing along with songs.

Very nice. Was the last three easy?

I didn't think the Suburbs fit anywhere else. Black Mirror is something everyone knows and it goes well with Wake Up. And Wake Up is a perfect closer – probably on par with Only in Dreams.

No, it's just that I think that's the perfect slot for The Suburbs. Great list!

Their frontman has a bit of Mick Jagger swagger about him, can't wait to see them live again!

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is one of my favourite albums of all time, but for some terrible reason I've never listened to anything else by them. What are the next couple of albums you'd recommend?

That album, personally is my favourite by them. So to recommend one would be hard.
But I would say Lifted or The story is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground is the next album I would suggest.

Of course, with those songs picked, the show would run for 5 hours. Not that I'd complain.

There's no way I can do a Beatles playlist close to justice but I'll give one a crack:

1. Eight Days A Week
2. Ticket To Ride
3. Lady Madonna
4. We Can Work It Out
5. I Want To Hold Your Hand
6. She Loves You
7. Can't Buy Me Love
8. Help!
9. A Hard Day's Night
10. I Feel Fine
11. Paperback Writer
12. Eleanor Rigby
13. Get Back
14. Something
15. Blackbird

Encore
16. Let It Be
17. Yesterday
18. Hey Jude

Pretty much just started picking songs and throwing them in some sort of order. No doubt I've missed a fair few songs and it's likely I'm well off the mark but anyway. Would love to see some set lists for these guys, Queen, Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters etc. Not easy.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

1. Can't Stop
2. Higher Ground
3. Scar Tissue
4. Snow (Hey Oh)
5. Californication
6. Suck My Kiss
7. Around the World

15. By the Way
------------------------
16. Otherside

13. All I Want
14. The Kids Aren't Alright
15. Pay the Man

---

16. Bad Habit
17. End of the Line
18. Self Esteem

Enough of the big hits to keep casual fans interested, plus a few slower ones in the middle. Pay the Man would be wicked live I reckon, so it could be the closer. A definite bias towards Americana, but I think there's at least one song from every album of theirs, except their self-titled.

STRUNG OUT:
1. Too Close to See
2. Support Your Troops
3. Monster
4. Reason To Believe
5. Blueprint of the Fall
6. Orchid
7. The Kids
8. Nation of Thieves
9. Everyday
10. Ashes
11. Savant
12. Vanity
13. Exhumation of Virginia Madison
14. Matchbook
15. Bring Out Your Dead
---
16. Velvet Alley
17. Scarlet
18. Calling

Tried to mix up their older, straight-up punk stuff with their newer stuff. TBH their set at Soundwave a couple of years ago was damn near perfect http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/strun...howgrounds-melbourne-australia-4bdeeb7e.html; would've like Velvet Alley, or Calling, but otherwise a bloody awesome set.

I'll do a couple of festival sets for some of my favourite bands, I'll start with Two Door Cinema Club:

Just re-read this, where is Costume Party?!? Arguably their best song

Blur
  1. Girls And Boys
  2. Country House
  3. M.O.R.
  4. Top Man
  5. She's So High
  6. Beetlebum
  7. Sunday Sunday
  8. Charmless Man
  9. Best Days
  10. You're So Great
  11. Coffee and TV
  12. Advert
  13. Parklife
  14. Death of a Party
  15. This is a Low
    -
  16. Under the Westway
  17. The Universal
  18. Song 2

That album, personally is my favourite by them. So to recommend one would be hard.
But I would say Lifted or The story is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground is the next album I would suggest.

It's their (his?) best by a landslide. Lifted.. is pretty cool too and he experimented with a heap of new sounds and it's basically Conor's 'Figure 8' album but it's not on the same level. I'm Wide Awake was him at his creative and poetic peak.

His earliest albums are good too; raw and insightful and full of nice little observations and poetic surprises.

After he got off the drugs his music became pretty boring, but he's still got a nice little legacy which has never been overstated or exaggerated beyond how conceivably good it is.
