He'll be back by round 1 hopefully, not round 12 or something. Its all in preparation for round 1 remember? Midfield is a worry i agree. Might splash some money around that area
Midfield is very average...
Black even if back round 1 or 2 will take time to get back to his best. Fletcher is not a good selection and Burgoyne is very up and down as is Griffen.
Would probably pick more consistent players IMo...

I have gone for 2 starting rookies in both forwards and back.. Yet to decide if Sidebottom will be a forward or mid.. Could bring a dangerfield or someone into the mid if I brought him forward..
Safe to say my backs only needs a houlihan upgrade and Rucks shoudl be good if I dont cop any injuries..
Any thoughts/??

Obvious injury risks with Drummond, Malceski, Raines, and lesser extent McIntosh and Lucas, but otherwise pretty happy with it as a start. Hopefully the Messiah (aka Mitch Thorp) can break into the Hawks team for 10-12 games.

A few risky moves there but overall not bad.
General rule, I find, is where you have a choice between putting someone in MID as opposed to FWD/DEF, you always go with the non-MID option, so I'd be moving Sidebottom to the forwards. Watch the NAB Cup to see if he's going to get game time in the real season.
Also keep an eye on Ballantyne. A few elbow niggles may delay his debut and leave you with a donut.
Have a look at Lucas, Higgins and Veszpremi in the NAB Cup. I'm yet to decide which 2 of those 3 will make my line-up, but all 3 are good cheap forward options, so pay attention to their form.

Nice job
But also, on Shauny McKernan who i'm so hyped about; if Phil Davis is listed as a ruckman, he might get more games then him.
Hes been so impressive even with his injury.

For everyone saying Black won't score well when he gets back, your kidding yourselves. Blacky hasn't had a proper pre season for years, but still manages to keep himself in great shape. With a broken hand, he can still do all the cardio he needs. He will be fit by round 1, he is just so professional you shouldn't worry whether or not he'll have the fitness to play well. There are obviously no doubts about Black's skills, and thus a broken hand will not affect him when it heals in anyway. He will be 100% once it heals.
I dont see blacky increasing his scoring though. I think he will score about that same, and unless you are a top 6 mid, then scoring the same wont make you a final 22 player.

I don't expect those guys to be in rd 1. Have a look at the best 22 threads on the team boards, remember there's very little time between the team sheets being released and the lockout. If you want to risk it good luck. Who's spot is Cogs going to take considering he hasn't played senior football for more than 2 years? I can tell you he's alot smaller than he was back then.
