Learned Doggie fans, where's Robert Murphy at with his recovery from injury?

Is he worth picking in DT at $395k?

Thanks

He played only 10 or 15 minutes of the practice game today so he is a fair way behind.

I would be expecting a slow start to the season, but who know's? When fully fit he is a good DT player.

I'm thinking of starting Gia in my forward and was wondering if u guys think he will continues where he left of from last season? Is there any chance he could improve from his last years scores or any chance he will not go as well as last season?

thanks

You would think his scores would improve. He didn't have a pre season last year so he had limited time on the ground. Had much better one this season. At the very least his score should hold to about the same

Dear Dogs,

I am working out my DT rucks.

There has been no talk of Minsen here. How's he looking? He looked good to me last year and the few times I saw him play, it looked as if he was getting better and better. I am thinking of making him one of my two main rucks (Not taking Cox, want to be different, thinking of Hille and Minsen).

I also had a look at the WCE board, and no-one there was listing Naitanui as a ruck emergency (I thought he might bring in a few bucks), maybe they won't play him.

What role has he been playing in the NAB games? Is he tagging?

Spent a little bit of time on Watson in the NAB Cup, but not sure about last week. I wouldn't take any notice of that though, tagging's obviously far more common in the regular season.

With the progression of Griffen and Higgins among others into the midfield, I wouldn't be surprised to see Boyd given much tighter roles.

If it does happen his average will drop significantly. If he's given the same freedom as last year he'll average 95+.

Thats because he's injured :thumbsu:

Is callan ward a best 22 player?

Was said before, but he's a 19-25 player.

Will play games, but will also be an emergency on occasions.

Expect at least 10-15 games this year. I'm expecting him to be pushing for a starting 18 spot by the end of the year.

If he's given an opportunity early on and takes it, he'll play a lot of footy.

Cheers lifelike. Still not sure if I want to take the risk on him or not

There was some mention of Higgins earlier. He has done well in the pre season, but I do not know a hell of a lot about him.

Would you include him in your best 22?
What position(s) do you expect him to play?
How are his skills (disposal efficiency)?

cheers in advance.

Yes would include him in our best 22.
Rotating through the midfield.
And he handballs a fair bit but his kicks are very good aswell.
(That's what i think anyway)
Good luck!

Mitch Hahn is a bit of a gamble I think. He will mainly play forward but could possibly spend a little time in the middle in his brute force is required. I think that will be pretty rare with Higgo, Griff, and maybe Callan getting more time in the middle.

Mitch will be a player that can score low at times and then get under the radar and score well. A good example is the 6 goals he kicked against Essendon where the week before he was hardly seen.

You'd be brave to pick him. Important to our team but probably not dreamteam.

Cross is always a good buy, had a massive pre-season once again (might of overdone it a bit though).

I believe the coaching staff are trying to make him kick more, whether that happens i'm not sure. But i can still see improvement in his scores, he has averaged over 100 in the 06 season so i'd say he can definetly do that again :thumbsu:

noticed there has barely been any talk anywhere of Everitt, he seemed to me to be always a player who could be a gun DT'er.

I have been out of the country so have been struggling to keep up with the pre season, how has Everitt gone? Will he be a consistent best 22 player and is he capable of having a "breakout year"?

Cheers guys

Had a bit of an interrupted pre-season, but should be right to go come round 1. Given Williams is no certainty, Everitt could get his opportunity fairly early on. From most reports his pre-season form has been ok, without setting the world on fire. Not sure he's set in the 22 yet, but should play quite a few games.

Gilbee looking good is he?

Can you tell me how he's coped with a tag in the past? Dons did it to him in nab cup I saw, with limited success.

He's been tagged for a few years now, and has still been one of our better players. Could get more freedom further up the field this year, is a pretty safe bet I would have thought.

Thanks mate, I might just have to sit on that decision for a couple of weeks yet.
