With our tall forward stocks remarkably thin, and a huge amount of salary cap that needs spending, I think Darcy and Mason would benefit greatly from having a guy like Drew around the club.

If he was keen to play on, should we offer him a year?

It's a good thought. With only Jesse White, Moore and Cox next year we might need some depth.

However, I'd much prefer Harvey. Delist Blair. Sign Harvey. Can provide so much more.

Disagree, our midfield isn't an issue, and Harvey isn't going to replace Blairs pressure acts.

Needs basis says Ferrito and/or Petrie of the 4 delisted.

Confidence only takes a week to regain. And at least when he has confidence he kicks them dead straight.

Even a confident Travis sprays them left, right and out of bounds

Yeh, nah.(edit maybe yeh actually if cheap.)
Unless really cheap. As these things go.
Then again if cheap why not for experience etc.

Pricing the determinant for me.

No. Harvey or ferrito could bring something but I doubt it. Not for us.

Petrie on the cheap, mentoring roll for Darcy.
Sounds ok.
I'm pricing based on Petrie. Cheap why not?

Isn't this guy bereft of confidence? Could barely get his hands to pick up the ball in the last game we played. If we're losing cloke and picking up this stopgap to fill the void i'll lose any faith in the recruiting department.

Agreed, Petrie is a witches hat once the opposition backs take it away, Harvey is not needed, Dal Santo ditto and Firitto does not fill a need so I would stay well clear of all of them.

You wouldn't take a nicely priced Harvey?
He gets lots of ball still, plays to high levels still, could go well half forward area, mentor our young ones, has great preparation, leadership by application.
If we got him cheaply (as we would) he is worth plenty for a year or two.
If he bombs, oh well, worth the punt.

He is worth more in 2017 then say Macaffer was worth 2014 to this year.
More valuable than Blair, than Golds, Thomas.

I'm assuming he'd come inexpensive, low draft pick, and say 300 k or so a year.
Anyway that's my take.

OP obviously hasnt watched Petrie play this year.

I'd rather Carey get a one year deal.

Wayne or Jim.
I'd go Drew........Carey

Are we really running with an internet rumour that on the eve of the finals the Kangas have told players that they are not required next year?

You mean the Internet rumour that Brad Scott confirmed at his press conference?

Maybe it's just here say?
