Driving Tests

Passed, just.. no thanks to some **** of a taxi driver, who decided not to let me pull out of a parking bay, instead he sped passed and pressed his horn. The assessor said she almost had to press the pedals which is an Automatic fail. Still pissed off no end about the taxi driver, almost cost me like 3 months (waiting for another test) and $70.

Well done mate.

I did mine at City West, it was easy.

Agree, passed mine earlier this month and it was all pretty basic.

Just a matter of doing the hours now, will take a while considering TEE's the go at the moment.

Bump.

I had mine today. I'm getting over a dog of a cold, so timing couldn't be much worse.

So, sat tight, went for a drive for an hour before. Got there and waited.

The instructor at Willagee comes out. Checks the indicators and brake lights (petty, I know) and away we were. I knew he was a prick 10 seconds in when he slammed on the brake because he said I was 'speeding' out of the carpark. HOW DARE I DRIVE AT 8 K'S AN HOUR?!? SO FAST! Thankfully enough the arseh*le decided not to fail me there so we continued.

So, it went on and I basically butchered everything I had perfected over the last few months.
, I just wanted to go back. I had already butchered the 'left something behind' manouver by ****ing up an attempted u-turn. I knew I was having a shit day at this point.
It took me 3 times to get my parallel park right, and even then my straighten was lacklustre.
I reversed back a bit and was about to turn out. He slammed on the brake and told me he I would have hit the BMW in front of me. My care factor went out the window at that point, I just wanted to go back.

So we slowly make our way back, and the assessor turns into a complete smartass. It was very tempting to smack him in the nose.

I failed, obviously because of his braking, but other than that I failed by only one mark.

What a prick.

Time for another bump.

Finally passed. FINALLY.
After the first try I waited two months for attempt two. I decided it'd be a good idea to drive on the wrong side of the road because I assumed it was a one way street, it was that narrow. Instant fail, all over within 15 minutes.

Attempt 3 was two and a half weeks ago. I had everything good until I turned off Roe highway. I was doing 60 in a 50 zone. Instant fail. Back we go.
Pity, because it was on the way back to Willagee. Would've been a clean pass.

So this morning at 7.55 was my fourth shot. I decided last night I'd spend the evening with my girlfriend so I don't sit around here and fret about it and over-analyse every possible situation. After an hour of practise (and twenty minutes of panic beforehand trying to find my noob permit) the instructor and I park and wait for my fate to unfold. So, out came about five assessors. First two guys I see are ones I hadn't had, then comes out the arseh*le I had the first time around, followed by the guy I had last time, the German bloke.

To my epic relief the German guy calls my name and some nervous bloke who's having his first attempt gets the arseh*le. He offers me the choice of another assessor because he's previously failed me but I quickly opt not to do so, because he was very lenient last time. Despite my fail, I had pulled out of a carpark the wrong side, but he overlooked it because there was no keep left sign.

So, we start practically immediately and the next half an hour goes without a hitch. Left Something Behind (or Stopping for Shopping as he calls it), driveways (both front on and reverse) and driving forward into a parking bay was about the extent of it. We arrive back at exactly 8.25. He signs it. Done. Two crosses on the whole thing.

Now a few weeks of racking up some hours and that'll be it. Freedom is now within my grasp.

Just failed my first attempt yesterday at Joondalup, gutted.
Left the carpark, drove round for a bit, forward parked, reverse parked, easy as no marks lost.
Then had to come out onto Joondalup Dve at a T-junction. You know one of the big ones where you can wait in the middle of the 2 lanes. Anyway, I went out into the middle when there was already a car there, I thought it was fine to have 2 there but apparently its illegal. How many people do you see doing it though.
So frustrating, examiner said I should've passed easily.

Haha unlucky dude. Trust me lots of people do it, and when you're the car infront it'll shit you no end. Then you'll realise why its illegal. You cant see whats coming! F*** those 4WD c**** when they do that, makes me wanna jump out of my car and smash their window.

Haha yeah I get that mate, thats how the bloke explained it to me why its illegal. Thats what pisses me off though, I was directly behind him and not blocking his view at all! Oh well.

Least I can merge not like the thousands of people out there :p

The midnight curfew is shit.

Thought I'd throw it in.

Perhaps if P-Platers could actually drive properly the rule wouldn't have come to fruition in the first place.

Perhaps if young ****wits could learn to not drink and drive then maybe it wouldn't have come to fruition.

Got my test on friday. D: not nervous at all, wont stress or anything. I'll just be pissed if i have to fork out more cash and wait even longer for it.

Thats extremely harsh. I never knew that was illegal.

Perth shits me. I turned 16 today and need to go to a licensing centre to sit a test and get my L plates.

However, they are only open Monday-Friday from 9-3. I started apprenticeship 3 weeks ago, my boss lives next door to me (can't pull a sicky) and can't get a day off to go sit my test.

Is it possible to get someone to go sit my test and get plates for me?

I'm going to bring up an old topic, but my driving test was awesome. The instructor saw my eagles wrist band and so we started talking about footy the WHOLE time through the test. He kept saying he has never had a good convo about footy with a girl before..

Everyone says he is one of the tough markers but he went really easy on me haha.

I might wear my geurnsey when I go for mine then, lets hope I don't get a dockers fan!

I should already have my license but car troubles which have been too expensive to fix have prevented me from practicing that much, but fundamentally I'm pretty good; already had a few road trips.

Hopefully will pass my test in the next month or so :)

Haha you actually should :thumbsu:

I'm late getting mine as well, the 6 months rule sucks.

Good luck :)
