I know a lot of people are going to shoot me down for this but so be it. This is not a knee-jerk reaction in any way but, to me, as has been far too weak in recent weeks. Can't tackle and doesn't chase hard enough. Several times in a game Murph will try to tackle an opposition player without putting his body in, but rather hanging back and trying to grab their jumper. PLUS i remember yesterday where Murph was chasing Robert Murphy, fell over, and didn't bother to get back up and chase again. R. Murphy went on to get a handball receive and kick a goal. Once again, not a knee-jerk reaction but this particular incident stands out in my mind and there have been several other similar incidents this year.

Ratts made a tough call with Waite and Thornton earlier this year and the team lifted, i think a call like dropping Murph will have a similar effect.

Wow.....just wow

On a side note....Did you notice Juddy missing a few easy tackles last night

There is a reason for this....and it's injury related

How about Gibbs? If anyone needs a rocket up his arse it's Gibbs meant to be a elite kick but had a efficiency of 45% and that too most of those kicks weren't even under pressure. Gibbs has been cruising along in the seniors almost like he knows he is guaranteed a game in the seniors, going to be a great player but needs to be taught a lesson, rather we do it now than later when bad habits will be hard to break.

Was talking about this today with one of our mates. When we needed a lift, and I'm not just putting the blame solely on Murph, he seemed to give half-hearted efforts, even though that seemed to be the case with every one of our players. However, Murph is one of our elite players and he needs to find some form, as he has been lacking it the past couple of weeks, notably since his injury, even though he's only played two games since then. It would send a message to the players as we dropped Thornton and Waite, and dropping Murph would be a huge wake up call to the others. Same with Gibbs, who's disposal efficiency has been down the past couple of weeks, which has been the case with the rest of the team mind you. However, one or the other would do instead of dropping both of them as we have to solidify our spot in the Top 8. We drew the comparison to Nick Dal Santo a few years back, dropped him for a few weeks, and came back with consecutive Best on Ground efforts. The same could be done for Murph or Gibbs, although I think that Murph is the best option at the moment, and this isn't to say that I don't love Murph or Gibbs, because I do.

It's hard to kick when your back hurts

Try it

But he hasn't been impressive this year at all other than one game, seems to be cruising a bit, maybe your right.

I think we would all love to see Gibbsy show that bit extra intensity and passion, but it just doesn't seem to be in his manner? :( Or he's distracted somehow.

As for Murph...we know his defensive side isn't great but he's supposedly working on it and he generally tries his guts out getting the ball and he's a gun offensively, the opposition should be worrying about him mostly. Which I suppose the number 1 tag would indicate they do somewhat.. lol okay I'm not really going anywhere with this ;)

I wouldn't drop Murph, but I'd be telling them (both MM and Gibbs) to get their finger out and stop watching/relying on Juddy so much.

Murphy has been good for us, Gibbs is the one who needs to be given the rocket, and dropped to the reserves.

Such a happy little Ostrich you are TG, head so deeply buried up your own arse.

Gibbs needs to be given a rocket, haven't been impressed with him at all this season, like I said is on cruise control and is taking his spot for granted. I love Gibbs and I think he will be a star but he needs to learn some lessons and quickly, or we run the risk of him getting into bad habits, he is much much better than what we have seen so far this year.

Yep and you should add Judd, Gibbs and Simpson to the list.

Wonder which 4 players we should bring in?

Great idea this.

LOL

Well at the moment we are playing like a 3rd tier team, hope you are enjoying it, obviously you are.
