Looking at teams on the weekend I could not help but acknowledge Collingwoods selections.

Leigh Brown, Tarkyn Lockyer, Shane O'Bree, Jack Anthony and Presti (Rested) all out. They are promoting their youth such as Dawes, Brown, Sidebottom, Wellingham and Beams and reaping the benefits.

I believe we still have a role for Goodwin and Mcleod to play roles within the side, however the rest are simply list cloggers preventing younger players an opportunity to develop. It is time the AFC as they have done in the past, tap certain players on the shoulder, thank them for their contribution and move them on.

:thumbsu: This is it in a nutshell.

At the risk of sounding like Crow-Mo *shudders!* :)

Are you saying that is Neil's philosophy? If so - I agree it IS.

However, what do you think of that philosophy? (or are you saying that's how'd you do it too?)

What changes would you make within either that philosophy or your own philosophy whatever that may be?

I believe that's what Vader was asking for. Certainly something I'm interested to hear from one of the more vocal 'In Neil we trust' supporters. (FYI I was a big part of that movement with some small displeasures until this year. Now I don't know where I stand and want some answers/action.)

It's not as if they are not trying to find one from within the existing list...
Douglas - failed
Petrenko - failed

Who do you propose we play there instead?
  • Johncock is not the answer - the 2 goals a game he'd average up forward would be more than countered by the 5 his opponent would kick on us at the other end of the ground.
  • Jaensch maybe? Then again, that's probably a waste of his speed and delivery - we'd be better off playing him in defence or the midfield where he can use his weapons to setup our forwards.
  • What other options are there available to us at present?

there's the other chap ;)

I personally would prefer a similar philosophy to Mick's than Craigy's current philosophy. Case by case basis but the philosophy difference is stark.

the club seems to have forgotten about him too, after giving a 2 year contract though :p
Jacky? Currently injured and therefore not available for selection anyway. Wallowing in the magoos when he's not injured, so I didn't regard him as a viable alternative.

I share your concern over the thinking behind the decision to give him a 2-year contract though.

What about Neil Craig's policy of not gifting young players games just for the sake of it, rather than them earning their position. He has come out and said something around these lines often in the past few years.

Ok Neil, how many games have been gifted to "experienced" players in the past few weeks?
Dead on neddy! NC is not a premiership coach, the sooner he's gone the better.

Maybe we'll trade for some of these guys at the end of the season?

I cannot believe the people who want Porplyzia dropped. He is close to our best player. Anyone reckon Steve Johnson will be dropped this week just because he has had 4/5 bad games? Let's keep it simple - Drop bad players, pick good players. Despite his last few weeks, we know Porplyzia is a quality player and will be around for many years. He's already proven himself, let's not make him prove himself again.

You know that I know that you know that I have a different stakeholder engagement technique to you ;) Blame the fact my father is a princpal (and 2 sisters are teachers!?!?)

I've noticed, and have to say I have been admiring it. :thumbsu:

the cookies will be waiting however.
