The sport will be torn apart when he goes down.Kinda looks like there's someone they can't afford to be caught.
Who's the next quickest without an asterisk?
I'd say Bruny Surin, but depends on your definition of an asterisk.Who's the next quickest without an asterisk?
I have just written a blog article for my final year at university. Focusing on WADA's response to Russia's anti-doping fine and appeals.
I would be highly appreciative if you could read and comment. I'd be happy to do the same for anyone else
Cheers,
My doubts about this Olympics has been increasing exponentially as it has progressed, watching the sheer number of PBs getting smashed across the board and inexplicable improvements of athletes (Including Australians) has left me with the belief that this is probably the most tainted Olympics since those dark days back in late 80s early 90s.According to this report, a global drug tester was worried that there was a prolonged period in 2020 for athletes to cheat without any fear or consequences.
“Athletes easily avoided testing because their country was in a lockdown, and then you had cheating athletes only having to say they had a small fever or some other Covid symptom and then they weren’t even tested, so very little testing was done,’’ the drug tester said.
In April 2020 only 569 out of competition tests were obtained from athletes around the world, 12,000 less than in April the year before. There has been a big increase in testing this year but the latest testing numbers gloss over the fact that the time to uncover the cheating has long passed.
It's hard to know how many tests were avoided, and it would be unfair to point the finger at any individuals without evidence, but one official suggested a window into the levels of what has been going will be to look at how many records and personal bests will tumble at the Games.
Agreed, we have seen a number of PB broken this year especially after we didn't have many competitions last year due to covid19.My doubts about this Olympics has been increasing exponentially as it has progressed, watching the sheer number of PBs getting smashed across the board and inexplicable improvements of athletes (Including Australians) has left me with the belief that this is probably the most tainted Olympics since those dark days back in late 80s early 90s.
Some of the results you look at and go, that just does not make sense, and when I get that feeling I just can't trust it is a legitimate result.
Most of those records, if not all, were made in the super suit era of swimming. Honestly, those super suit world records should be wiped.Strangely enough, most of the individual swimming world records weren’t even close to being touched.
400m Hurdlers be like….

FTFYKevin Young's 400m hurdles record stood for 29 years until Karsten Warholm took 0.08 of second off it last month. In the Olympic final not only did Warholm go almost a second under Young's old record but two other athletes went under the old time.
Thank you for posting this information, very interesting.I had read about Hassan and the doubts surrounding her - so I looked up her coach
Alberto Salazar who is currently under suspension for 4 years
In 2019 Salazar was banned for 4 years from athletics for doping offenses involving those athletes he coached.[5] The Nike Oregon Project was shut down in the wake of the controversy.[6] In January 2020 he was placed on the United States Center for SafeSport's temporarily banned list.[7]
His temporary ban was made permanent after allegations of sexual and emotional misconduct had been investigated by the SafeSport organization.[8]
Just like Russian athletes suffered because of the regime of coaches and chemists pushing the drugs - so should athletes of suspended coaches be suspended from competition until they return XX clean tests
