At the risk of pointing out the fact that you are very very young, or relatively stupid (no that's harsh, I mean that you lack knowledge) can I refute what you said about 114 years without a season of 24 rounds. I can tell you for a fact that we have had a 24 season round as recently as 1994. Before that you have to go way back to 1992 to find a season with 24 rounds..... Other than that I don't mind your point. :)

Umm, I am quietly confident I am older than you, but that is beside the point.

The point is that even in 1994, there were 14 teams (7 matches) and with 14 being an even number, teams did not get a bye.

The structure of this years fixture is unlike anything we have ever seen before so comparing 1994 to this season is completely irrelevant. Thanks for the heads up though...

Yeah I was thinking along those lines too peppershaker. Being a Sydney supporter do u think bradshaw will be fit for round 1, if not ill probabaly pick stevie j instead

Bradshaw doesn't look like he'll be ready. On the plus side, I got to see Goodsey at the Swans reserves practice match yesterday and he is looking ominous. Pictures of him in preseason training don't do him any justice- he is looking in career best shape and hardly misses a match. Massive Brownlow chance in a team where he will be a vote magnet.

I'm with DWD and longytap on this one. Must be strongly considered.

Goodes still has a few things against him. Age, now he doesnt look like he is slowing down to much but last year during his poor period he looked like he was ageing. Tags, whenever an oppo team has a meeting before they play Sydney i can assure you the number 1 player at the top of the board will always be Goodes. So plenty of time goes into him, lets hope his age doesnt stop his speed, because thats what he uses along with fitness to break the shackles.

He still has plenty of upsides to his game to counteract these cons. His Reward outways his Risk and he would be my 5th forward if i was to pick 5 premiums, which wont be happening. To many good rookies in the forwards and also Petrie being used for DPP so it limits room.

Who are the 4 premiums u see ahead of him. Id say buddy and voldt for sure, and perhaps stevie j, but other than that there arent many others. Id say goodes is less of a risk than a sylvia or higgins who might score on par with him but have durability issues, while didak and chappy are quite underdone and perhaps look like upgrade targets

Well I would go Waite, Rioli or McGlynn. It depends on who else you have in your fwd line.

I'd probably go further down than the 300-350K mark to guys like Yarran and Davis- both have had geniune role changes that are lucrative in DT and are both around the 250K mark.

Let the lynching over mid-priced forwards begin!

Anyone else on the Fyfe bandwagon?
He starts the year underpriced (including finals and excluding game of 33 where he got injured he averaged around 74 last year) and has had a stellar pre-season. Jump on.

I'm still very tempted, but I just can't squeeze him in as I already have Pav and a few other Freo players. I've gone with Yarran at this stage, but he is bloody hard to resist!

I have Fyfe as F5, hoping he can smash it out early so I can use him as a player I can upgrade a fallen premium to. I like the fact he is seemingly playing as a wingman too - should get a shitton of ball.

Yep hopefully an upgrade to Chappy mid-way through the year. Normally I query second year players for my DT but I think Fyfe will be an exemption, he will be a future star and will not surprise me if he averages a good 80-85 this season.

When tapscott was drafted at the end of '09 he was top 20... Will this be his year? I hear whispers but he has not showed in any of the preseason games....

Do i need to wait another season?

I am still undecided on Pav.

His pre-season form has been average at best and IMO Freo wont be doing as well this year so I cant see him scoring high unless he is thrown into the midfield.

Out of interest, would you say it is more effective to have:

foley (4th mid) and stevie j (5th fwd)

or

m.murphy (4th mid) and c.yarran/p.vezpremi (5th fwd)

Had Buddy, Stevie J and Cyril in my forward line. Just looked at the fixture and saw the Hawks and Cats share a bye. So that can't happen. Gonna keep Buddy and Cyril as I see them as more reliable than Stevie, any ideas on who I should bring in? Boomer? N Riewoldt?

He played in the last 2 NAB Challenge games.
Scored 50 & 37.
