hey guys im relatively new to dreamteam so thoughts on my team would be great thanks.

backs: goddard, cornes, houlihan, drummond, malceski, raines, hill (dawson, rance)

Mids: Corey, Thompson, cornes, gibbs, foley, rich (swift, beams)

Rucks: simmonds, hille (currie,tippet)

Fowards: Deledio, Giansiricusa, davis, Sylvia, Higgins, skipworth, ziebell (gumbleton, walker)

Relatively settled on this line up for now:

B: Goddard, Cornes, McMahon, Bock, Waite, Raines, Grimes (Hill, Petrenko)

M: Corey, Swan, Gibbs, Mackay, Skipworth, Rich (Robinson, Anthony)

R: Cox, Petrie (Graham, Spencer)

F: Deledio, Didak, Giansiracusa, Houlihan, Higgins, Yarran, Ziebell (Walker, M Brown)

Got about 12k in the bank. Tossing up between Yarran and Andy Otten at the moment, not sure who to go. Otten will score more, Yarran' spot is probably safer (for now).

Thoughts?

Drummond's injury prone and he's probably yr safest option here....

Wait a minute, YR missing a FWD line:D

Risky, but if yr keen. Might be putting all yr eggs in 1 basket though

Yeah. I guess the main problem is with the forward line...
Too many cheapies/rookies... I could downgrade one of the midfielders to free up some cash, but I don't know if it'll be enough to do the trick.

Loving how everyones jumped off Lucas, bargain of 09 IMO. The bloke is one of the most durable players in the comp apart from last year, missing just 3 games in the last 5 years, prior to 08. Is a walk up start in the 22. This time last year was considered a premium with the likes of Pav, Richo,Brown etc. One ordinary NAB cup game where the supply from a depleted essendon midfield was woeful, and everyones run for the hills. Averaged around 90 in 05,06,07. I don't expect him to be a keeper but looks a good cash cow. Certainty to improve on 50 average

Lucas has just been looking so slow in NAB cup games, not getting lead up marks that made him a gun in the last two years. FWIW I'm hanging on to him hoping that when he gets his fitness up he will improve

Nothing really. Having a good pre-season but he's far from a lock. If you have dubious bench players and then couple that with a player like Krakouer then your doubling the risk. I've seen the teams from the last two years that have won the comp and one thing that sticks out is how 'safe' they have played it. They aren't gambling as much as people think you need to. If I was going to pick Krakouer I'd make sure I had the safest bench players I could find.

Krakouer's a lock.

Krakouer's a lock.

Think you missed my point a bit. Yea Krakouer is in the best 22 the same way Raines and Grimes are. Pick them(Dt'ers have to pick some of them) but make sure you have good cover on the bench. I was commenting on someones team who had very poor bench players. If Krak(Raines and Grimes as well), who's probably pick 18th-24th picked in the team is struggling and dropped you are fooked.

Petrenko has become the Bigfooty hype player of the 86k backs. :p

i wouldn't even know what the guy looked like, but he's been earmarked to play games.

after assessing the Adelaide list, i have come to the conclusion he is not in their best22. so, yep, 'aiming for 11' or so games sounds about right to me.

Neither is Suban, Cheney, Broughton or anyone for that matter. Patrenko is probably your best bet in the backs still. I like the look of him, 15 games for me :thumbsu:

First team of today but one of many thus far

B - Cornes, Birchill, Gram, King, Houlihan, Raines, Grimes (Suban, Rance)
M - Ablett, Cassisi, Gibbs, Boak, Haselby, Rich (Beams, Anthony)
F - Pavlich, Franklin, S.Johnson, O'Keefe, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebel (Thompson, Walker)
R - Cox, Maric (Currie, Spencer)

Any thoughts on above squad of 30??

great squad a_bit_high

Birchall is a minor doubt for rd1
Franklin plays Syd rd2, followed by Kangas rd3 (Josh Gibson his bogey opponent), and he's also coming back surgery in the off-season. you'll be able to get for a much cheaper price throughout the season, and i think there are safer options.

let's see your squad Virg :p

mine (currently):

B - Goddard, Scotland, Cornes, McPhee, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, [Hill, Petrenko]
C - Kornes, Boyd, Gibbs, Hasleby, Coughlan, Rich, [Beams, Robinson]
R - Simmonds, Charman, [Graham, Pyke]
F - Pavlich, Deledio, Harvey, O'Keefe, Lucas, Higgins, Yarran, [Sidebottom, Hogan]

13 guns (keepers)

risky strategy crazy. how many little boys do you want ?

14 guns.
perhaps some cheaper guns could give your rookie selections more security
eg)
Chapman -> O'Keefe/Brennan
M.Brown -> Sidebottom/Yarran

My squad changes so much there really isn't much point in me posted it, it'd be out-dated in an hour :p. Your backline and your ruck structure look pretty similar to mine though. I'm currently looking at a 5/3/2/2 keeper spread.

Fair point on Franklin Tippaz, my thoughts were with Buddy, if he just gets 50% better accurancy than last year he is worth getting early. I may be wrong on this but he is a very special player and is only 22.

Fantasy Freako's Team (Freako Part 2)

B: Hodge, Fisher, Taylor, Tiller, Dempsey, Petterd, Raines (Suban, Rance)

M: Power, McLean, Knights, Goodes, Schammer, Grigg (Rich, Davenport)

R: Cox, McIntosh (Graham, Jacobs)

F: Pavlich, Chapman, Cloke, LeCras, Smith, Krakouer, Sidebottom (Walker, Brown)

BANK: $276,700

The players in bold had to be added by myself as Freako did not have an option, so I basically picked the most expensive player in each position.
