West Australian newspaper writer Mark Duffield today wrote an article admitting his voting was wrong.
Apparently the votes are picked up but the judges are told that they can phone in at any time up to the end of the game and change their vote. Duffield didn't. His vote card had
3) Buckley
2) Rocca
1) Lappin
He said that at the game end he would have voted :-
3) Buckley
2) Voss
1) Lappin
because after he had voted he said Rocca cramped whilst Voss was outstanding.
He feels he did the right thing because he voted 3 for Buckley and Buckley won.
But the point is that the lack of the phone call cost Voss two valuable points in the voting.
IMO Duffield duffed it.
