Graphics look average but good enough, still not really enough about the gameplay to really comment. All FPS games look the same in a highlights package like this.

Randy Pitchford was at our game show last year with this, and its still the funniest trailer i've ever seen (i have never been able to find it on youtube though)

Sure, it won't have the best graphics, but the controls were very tight, and the humour is what you buy the Duke for, not for "ZOMG, the graphics are awsum"

I think it'll average around the 8 mark for scores, judging by my play through

I love that trailer, it's so ****ing Duke, which is amazing.

Sure it looks shitty graphically, but it has been more than 10 years in the making and this isn't a new engine. Would've taken another 2 years to bring out if Gearbox chucked it on the Unreal 3 Engine.

The next Duke will look a ton better at the very least.

I have been playing games for well over 20 years and IMO graphics make little difference.

Sure, they can make things look nicer, but for me and a lot of my mates its all about gameplay and replayability.

Hell, I still prefer AOE II to any other RTS game, and IMO one of the best golf games ever was on the very basic graphics of the original NES.

If Duke has the features that everyone loves from the 1996 Duke 3d version, (ie Political incorrectness etc) it wont matter too much about the graphics quality.

If it hasnt been toned down too much, I will be buying on release date :D

That was my worry too

I asked 2K games at their booth last year, and they seemed to think it would get through no worries

Its a very good point.
Thats why I commented on it hopefully not being "toned down". If its ture to its roots then it will be a winner.
Compared to the amount & type of swearing on newer games, duke 3d was fairly tame in comparison.
If the original duke nukem got thru 15 years ago, it would seem logical that the new one will have no problem :rolleyes:

Balls of Steel Collector's Edition announced, is at $99US right now, could be about $150AU IF it makes it down here (as there's only a limited amount being made).

I remember playing this as a teenager. They had claymore type things that you stuck on the wall and put a laser trip wire there, set one up high and then down low was a full proof easy kill in MP!
