OK the year is nearly over. Whats been your dumbest move in hindsight for this year? It was my first year, so I made some stupid moves.

1) At the beginning of the year, for some reason I read "Stevens" as "Scotland". Both Carlton players that start with S. Scotland now rates as one of the best DTers of the year.
2) Trading Burton into my team the week he was suspended.
3) Cooney.

Trading G.Ablett last week as i thought his season was over (it was my last pick). Made worse by the fact that i can now no longer get rid of Maguire!!

Picking up Tredrea thinking he would regain his form after he gets over his injury. Weeks later, he's out for the season due to his injury.

Using up all my trades pretty early, leaving me with Ablett, Tredrea, Charman injured.

Not dumb, but very unlucky. Picking up Hodge and Cam Bruce coinciding with their poor form when it looks like they're now carrying injuries. I trade Brown for Bruce after Brown was injured thinking I might as well trade the most expensive player for the next most expensive player. Neither of them have achieved their average more then once since I've picked them up.

Getting rid of Chad Cornes was pretty stupid.

Also choosing fringe West Coast players as the duds of my side, i.e. Hurn, Priddis.

have a couple of classics

picking up tredders when he clearly wasnt fit

bringing in JJ and a week later was dropped to bendigo, had to trade him away because i had no cover.

picking up bruce 3 weeks ago and he has been shocking for me, paid top dollar for him also

a few weeks ago a friend of mine wanted to match me up the week he was playing me so he traded Symes for Gianciracusa
that week...
  • Gian got injured
  • The next week symes pulled out a 140
serves him right
unlucky mate
:p

My friend traded J.Bowden for Hayes. Bowden gets 168, a week later - Hayes injured.

  • Retained Jono Brown one extra week because I........RAN OUT OF TIME!!!!!:eek:Yup, between cooking dinner, trolling thru cyberspace and playing referee for my two kids, I agonised over which trades I was going to make. Finally went to put them through only to discover LOCKOUT. aaargh!!!
  • Held on to R.Murphy for one week too long
  • Traded Sean Burgoyne around rd 8 feeling that his young body would drop away as winter set in - his form dropped right off....about 8 weeks later( money was good, though)

I did a couple of stupid things as well.
Picked up Patty Bowden after he got his first couple of 100's, then didnt break 70 for 4 weeks. I traded him and now hes a star.
Also picked up Michael Gardiner for one week!

um... well i actually have one of the best treams u would ever see, can post it on here if you like (pav is my worst on field forward)

but my worst mistakes are probably picking up riccuto at the start of the year. Has scored 2 big scores (both over 120) but has only scored one other time over 100 and has scored under 60 6 times!

oh and trading off gram after he hit 200,000 now he's an absolute jet

Starting the season with an imbalanced squad. Was far too heavy in the Centres, and underweight in quality Backs and Rucks.

Traded very well to fix all that, but meant I ran very low on trades too early.

Hanging on for grim death now.

Getting minson at the start and then trading him for skipper.:o

I got Embley at 390 thought he'd be a gun and needed someone who noone else had.

Picking up hodge at 420 his highest price.
GEtting rid of P Bowden the week before he started getting 100+

Traded P.Bowden IN 2 weeks before he got hundreds and said to myself "That was a dumb move" And traded him back out again! 2 trades wasted, Got a lemon and traded out a superstar. Single worst trade ever. .

Also got Choad the week after he got 140. (same week as I got p bowden actually) then lost 50K on him when he busted himself up.

Pretty dumb in retrospect. but still i got the money from that to invest in other places and now im coming 696th and my 4th ruckmen is now simmonds.:p Imagine what I would be coming if i had him the whole year

there wasnt much depth in the rucks, but to rely on a bottom aged draftee ruckman in ryder and clarke was pretty much asking for trouble. but hey thats just my opinion
