You guys are shocking as far as turning on players. You're dead set right on the commentators though we get the same thing with the eagles, all the commentators will go for a melbourne team (besides jacko and gossage maybe)

Cousins was always going to play poorly after an injury comeback. As it was last year it's the same this year in that he'll have to string 3 or so games together to find his feet and play his role.

I was about to go off at this post ...

... but then realised that the idiot commentator on triple M last year when the Tiges beat Essendon was not Brown but Crawford. Most bias commentating I have ever heard. I probably associate it with Brown because he was probably commentating as well.

**** crawford is atrocious though. He adds nothing but character to the Sunday Footy Show and on radio he can't articulate his thoughts or his character well enough but rather just be a pain in the arse to listen to.
No doubt, Crawford was a top player, but he is an annoying commentator and TV presenter. (someone tell him - he isn't funny).

I was actually surprised how good N Brown was last night - he provides some good insight to the game.

Actually on 3aw Richo said we should give Cousins a chance, and wait until he plays 3-4games before we can judge. He went on to say - some of us have forgotten he has been injured and didn't have a good pre-season.

hate walls with a passion, darkest day of my life when he coached the Tiges, always looked forward to getting to the G as a teenager and yelling at Balmey and Ricky McLean to punch his f****** lights out. he should just pull his flaps over his head and stay the venemous red back that he is. F*** OFF.

hate him so much can't think of anything really witty or intelligent to say.

I wonder how they(channel 10) rate their commentators. Ratings wont give you a guide as I'd be watching the Tigers game even if the 3 Stooges were commentating (some would say they already are).
Apart from reading Big Footy how would they know how much the viewer despises certain commentators. The ones on Saturday night being the Dreamtime game would supposedly be their best so god help us

Brown actually played that day. The boys would've been biased because they had a decent wager on the tigers that day

Exactly though. He's not in his 20's anymore and the football hasn't passed him by he isn't match fit, fit enough to play sure but not to get what he needs out of his body.

He'll come good.

Another poster made reference to Wall's the comment, on our problem being that we recruited midgets. Incorrect!!, Walls stated on National TV that our problem was that we recruited pygmies. That, just after Robin Nahas had lost possession. THis is an absolute blight on Robin and others of his ilk and C10 should take the appropriate action and sack the **** ASAP. Notwithstanding the FACT that he was a failed coach who just happenened to be there with the tankers when they were being paid under the table to bring home a flag and coached a flag side. After that, he was totally shitful as Sheeds suggests. Lets not forget his sage words after he opted for a certain Mathew Manfield, when he "coached" the tiges. Suggesting he was the next big thing in footy. How this ****ing idiot gets a gig on a national tv show is beyond logic...its like listening to a slow minded philistine trying to be intelligent. ;)

Oh I also loved when Walls was giving Vickery a touch up and when he said " this young man has been in the system for a couple of years and he hasn't put on any weight what so ever! Not good enough"
Im fairly sure it was Lloyd who made those comments and Walls in fact said it was a tough call considering he'd only been playing 2 seasons
Was definitely Lloyd that said that, and I'm pretty sure it was Quarterbrain that stood up for him (still thought Quarterbrain was terrible for the rest of the night though).

I thought it was stupid when he said Richmonds problem was because they recruited midgets. He mentioned Nahas and Nason.
Obviously he doesnt realise a team requires different shapes and sizes.
He also named Farmer in there, who's not exactly slightly built.

How can a bloke go on and on about Richmond recruiting midgets, then praise Jake King's inclusion in the team, and criticise the Tigers because he hasn't had more games?

The constant references to "Titch" Edwards and "Little Titch" Edwards from Walls & Quarterbrain were also making me want to throw a glass through my TV screen!

I went berserk over that comment. I mean what is that? I bet he wouldn't have said that if it was against his beloved Blues.

My favourite was in 2008 when asked if Richo could win the Brownlow. Just answered "No". No explanation or anything. Richo went very close that year.

I hate it when the game is on Channel 10 as i have to endure those idiots. And unfortunately it is delayed so you can't even tune into the radio as a commentary.

Bring back Channel 9. Eddie is so much better than these buffoons.
No thanks he sounds like he's giving birth every time a pie play touches the ball.:thumbsdown:Rockaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

instead poor old southby copped it all the time!

not that walls didn't mind throwing the fists around

fact is we have recruited pygmies. robert is right on that. truth hurt?

maybe the comment was politically incorrect but he was right. the bulk of our recruiting has been fflanker midget types and he was exposing that.

we need to face facts rob was calling it straight. as soon as we start getting the processes right we will get good calls.

As what? Meditation coach? If Cuz doesn't play on make him the midfield coach.
Not slagging Cuzz, but Kirk could teach a thing or two to our midfield as well. He's a great leader, respected by all, and is pretty tough and knowledgable (yeah i know i spelt that incorrect) in the way he goes about it. He would be good for the Tigers.

I think he would also make an extremely good development coach.

I have never liked Walls he has a absolute crap coaching record, that's when Richmond started going downhill, when we swaped him with northey.

Absolute headcase Wallsy, retire we don't want you commentating.

Richmond should strike his name of the boards.

I find it hard to believe that is the dumbest thing you have ever heard Walls say, Rusty.

I'd guess that you've just heard so much garbage spill from his gob that it all just blends into one big pile of shit, from which it becomes impossible to pinpoint which is actually the dumbest.

I've found Lloyd to be reasonably objective in the spurts of commentating he's done in the past. What was he saying last night? (I was at the game btw).
I'm actually surprised by LLoydy's footy nous. Not the sharpest tool in the shed but makes some very good and knoweldegable comments footy wise.

However all his preconceived prejuduces come out in an Essendon/Richmond contest and his radar is a bit off commenting on those games.

Getting stuck into Vickery was just a bit tasteless. 19 FFS. He is still 11 months younger than Nicnat. Most objective observers would concede he has a way to go and understand he is playing for develpment reasons. Still years and 10kg off a first ruck but shows signs.

I wonder what Ryder looked like 3 years ago - probably a tall skinny rake - bit like Vickery at same stage.

I had to roll my eyes when lloyd and rest of crap commentators began discussing why Morton wasn't in the team. None of them had a freakin clue. "Is he on the injured list?" "Must have been dropped"

Honestly, how much preparation do these guys do? If I was Lloyd - a former champion forward - I would make a point of researching each team's forward line for at least a couple of hours prior to each game I was being paid to make an "expert" comment on.

Exactly. You'd assume he already has a pretty good idea of the Bombers' list, so it would have only taken an hour to look into who is playing and who is not playing for Richmond and he might be able to contribute something worthwhile.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if it's been mentioned, but didn't he also state on the weekend that he believes there are four teams that can win the flag, Geelong, Bulldogs, St. Kilda and wait for it.......Carltank! WTF!! Carltank have as much chance of winning the flag as I do of potting Megan Fox!
