Don't go in expecting 3 to be like 2.I have forgotten nearly everything about the movies so I'll need to rewatch before 3 comes out.
Remember finding 1 an absolute slog (still thought it was decent). 2 was absolutely superb.

Not as good?
I haven't actually read the second book (Dune Messiah, which Movie 3 is adapting) - but I believe it is a much more introspective and tragic story rather than the more action-driven, political, heroes-journey of the original book (and the first two films). From my understanding, what action there is in Dune Messiah largely occurs off page, so it will be interesting to see if they bring any of that off-page action to the screen to make the film closer in tone to Part 1 and 2, or if they dive into the more introspective, character driven conflict of the Messiah narrative. Not as good?

Yes, butI suspect the Fremen Jihad would be covered as this was the pivotal point at the ending of Part 2.After all, 61 billion deaths occured because of the actions of Paul Muad'dib Atreides and his fanatics.

Well the point of Dune Messiah is demonstrate the change from hero to villain.Yes, butI wonder how much will be shown in detail / character perspective and how much may just be shown in a big montage or as part of a combination of premonitions, recollections, descriptions or reports, memories or flashbacks / flash forwards
Fantastic trailer.
If the first movie was contemplation, a boy exploring a new world, and the second one is a war movie, this one is a thriller. It is action-packed and tense. More muscular.
Yep I'd say so. "Action packed" the book is not lol.Havent read the books but seeing this quote from Denis Villeneuve am I right that he is going to make a lot of changes to the Dune Messiah story?

Damn straight - the man for the job. Complete faith in his ability to take liberties. Thought he made some clever changes in Part 2 to make it more action-y.Yep I'd say so. "Action packed" the book is not lol.
You'd have to spice things up a bit/take some liberties for a decent movie treatment of this, really no other option. Denis will pull it off, top tier director these days.
Haha, me too. All this spoiler talk about Jason Momoa being on the poster and I'm thinking to myself "Oh, was Jason Momoa in the first movie?"I have forgotten nearly everything about the movies so I'll need to rewatch before 3 comes out.
