Gee I'm really stoked with that news

I think he has a huge future with the club personally. He just needs a decent run with injuries

They say Campbell will develop into a good player despite being a kiwi. Not too special yet but supposedly had a few injuries. He is a KPP forward or ruck.

Good work by you guys. Thought Dunn might consider leaving after his first 2yrs. Thought you guys might even consider trading him because he would still have some handy value even though he hadnt really produced (not bagging but the truth).

I'm disappointed that Dunn has been re-signed. He lacks pace and has shown very little both in his games for Freo and the sharks. We have an abundance of slow midfielders on our list and Dunn should have been used to trade for a tall quick midfielder or a developing ruckman.

The problem with kids that are as big as Dunn when drafted is that they dominate at junior level because of their bulk compared to other 16-17 year olds, but when they come up against men who are the same size or bigger at AFL level they often struggle.

Hopefully I am proven wrong and he becomes a quality player for the Fremantle Football Club, because it would be a shame to have a top 10 pick on our list struggling to get a game for another 3 seasons.

Just coz hes re-signed doesnt mean he'll necessarily be here next season. I think he is still able to be traded this year,I could be wrong.

That said I dont think we have given the kid a decent go, injuries basically stuffed up his first year and this year he's been hit and miss with them too. I would like to see him do a full pre-season and string a few games together and then re-assess him.

I think we need to have abit of faith in Freo, if they didnt rate him they would have just let him go or if they were hedging then maybe they might have given him a 1 or 2 year deal not a 3 year.

Whatever criticism people might have CC does have a pretty good ability to develop the young úns and Broadbridge is another who's talent is in grooming the young players.

also - Schammer was drafted a year earlier, but is the same age as all these guys... we have him for a few years yet too. A good crop, that lot.

The highlighted part is spot on. He has been given lots of chances IMO.

I suspect he will have a "Hodge" like breakout in 2006.

Exceptional ability I would say with the way he has rounded out the list with promoted rookies and 4th round or later picks.

We only have two 2nd round draft picks (Mundy & Campbell) and one 3rd rounder (Peake F/S) on our list.

It does, unless both club and player want otherwise; you can't trade a player within the first year of a new contract.

Mr Q is correct both player & Club need to agree on a trade. The plus for Freo is that he is now contracted, Freo now has some barganing power should they wish to trade him, uncontracted players can nominate for the Pre season draft and he could have been picked up by one of the Victorian clubs for no gain to Freo.
I believe that someone who has been named all Australian twice has the ability to succeed at the highest level, now that Freo has signed him for 3 years it will give him some confidence and hopefully barring injury and with a full Pre season Freo will see the best of Ryely Dunn for many years to come. :D

He's no speed demon, but he certainly isn't the snail you make him out to be either.

His speed is more than adequete to compliment his versatility, meaning he isn't necessarilly an in and under midfielder or nothing. He's best suited to playing on the flanks as of now, and thrown into a tagging role in various midfield stints.

Either way, enjoy the extra 3 years you have of him before he heads back home ;)
