If I remember correctly, it was in the Essendon forward 50?

It might have had an effect on the final scores of the match.

Happened in the 2nd quarter. Hardly had an effect on the outcome. Corey's miss in the last quarter could have had an effect on the outcome of the game, as that would have brought North back within a point.

I don't understand why players shake the goalposts. Despite what people say, it doesn't increase the chances of the ball hitting post one iota.
If the post is wobbling from side to side and the ball is going to travel "close" to the goal post, there is every chance that the wobbling post could cause the ball to hit it, when it normally would have missed it as well as missng the post when it normally would have hit it.
In fact, there would be an equal chance that the ball will either miss the post, when it would have normally hit it, or hit the post, when it would have normally missed. It works both ways.

Why would a player risk a fine of $2000, when their act of shaking the post, does not increase the chance of the ball hitting it? Mathematically, the chance of it hitting the post are still identical to the situation where the goal post is stagnant.

Pop Quiz.....
Who was the last person to be reported for shaking a goal post?
(And FYI, this offence is reportable because it is basically cheating! I reckon Fletcher should get 6 for it!)

It was surprising they got that close considering their effort after quarter time. But to say that one incident wouldn't have changed the game just because it occured in the middle of the game is just ludicrous.
