Play wise? Nah
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Gaz do that in 2009?
Best player in the AFL easily, but best individual season ever is a huge call.
Not out of the question he wins the NSM, too.
Yes, but Dusty will win the Norm too
He won the awards, but I can think of a lot of players who have had better seasons. He won the Brownlow as well, but it was far from convincing.
There is a fair argument for it considering he got the most brownlow votes ever as well. Could well get the norm smith too!
Embarrassing shows how the afl is a shadow of what it was.
Could get the Norm Smith. Only missing the Coleman.
What an absolute star.
Not since Buddy's 08 season have I been absolutely wowed by such a dominant player.
Best this decade.
What about Ablett? It is amazing how fast people forget just how dominant he was.
Ablett 08-10 and probably Franklin in 08 the only two who would compete with Dusty's season over the last 15 years or so. He did have a ripper of a year.
Just did the double. Never done in the same year before.
There you go. Hard to argue with what he achieved this year.
36 votes, lol
Credit to Martin. Brownlow and Norm. The media didn't just want him off of the field, they wanted him in jail. There is no doubt about that. This kid has fought the fight. They tried to ruin him, he has risen. I think Martin will get better from here on in. His season is up there with some of Ablett jr's.
He can't even place a hat on a child
Okay, 36 votes in Brownlow, Flag, and NSM. Happy to call it the best individual season this century.
One of the most dominant years in recent history that's for sure
Top-five this millennium.
Swanny taught him well. He is a ******* god.
Leigh Matthews 28 touches, 4 goals per game. Buddy 2008 if talking the past 10 years, The year Huddo kicked 150. Hey, I'm more likely to remember Hawk players.
He's certainly cleaned the year up medal wise though! Ablett averaged 34 and 1.5 goals per game, and 32 and 2 goals per game.
So very impressive, statistically no. But a strong claim.
Wouldn't even be top 5 for Brisbane
