Dustin Martin, 2017, Finals.
30 disposals or more:
0 games.
29 disposals or less:
3 games: 3 wins, 0 losses. (Polls 25/30 votes on offer in the Ayresy.)
Interesting stat.
I feel like the obvious elephant in the room here, is that opposition teams probably knew these stats from the H&A season, and I feel like Dimma probably knew it as well. Dusty became a different, more impactful player in the finals by design. Dimma knew he was going to cop more heat, he knew he was going to cop more heat, hence his shift to majority contested possession in the Granny.
It perfectly sums up the dynamic nature of everything our club stood for this year, and our ability to slightly change the odd thing to improve us or negate the oppositions strength. Hats off boys.
