The club did a article on their website saying he will re-sign soon, Dimma said he will re-sign, Richardson said he will re-sign and he is the "model" for the new hoodys on the website. I'm pretty confident he will sign soon.

Disagree. Only give him a 'final' offer. No, I mean, only give him a 'last' offer. No, maybe you're right - 'last AND final' is best. You make those boarding calls at the airport don't you RFCT74?
I mean no deviation, no modifications, no tweaks. The next compromise is one we will not accept any negotiation on, it has to be a straight ultimatum, accept it or your gone

Any more smart arse comments?

You reckon they're overs?

If I was those clubs I would be creaming my pants if I could offer and get Dusty for that!! struth!

I get the feeling some must really under rate Dusty compared to me!
I do think their overs.
For example the Melbourne one, they're probably thinking Pick 2 would be pushing it, then we're wanting to include either their Co Captain or their prior #1 Pick.

The Dogs, they'd want just pick 4, so we'd be very lucky to get another top talent also.

North really rate Zeibell so much so that they wouldn't even straight swap him. Keeping in mind Dusty would be to strengthen their midfield so they won't also trade out their midfield.

Saints maybe would go through but again they are probably thinking just pick 3.

Carlton one looks most likely for mine but I don't know Garlett that well- I know he is talented but I think at this stage he is mostly rated by talent and not output at this stage.

I think if he was to get traded (which he won't) we'd be looking at:
- Top 5 Pick straight up
- First round pick and fringe player
- 2nd Round Pick and Established talent

Not what I think we deserve but what will get done- all the more reason to say we need to sign him.

Yeah that's true. But anything less is unfair IMO.

Dusty has shown he's worth more than a top 5 pick. HEAPS more. If we traded him for say pick 3, all we'd be getting is a chance at drafting a player who might be as good as him. Doesn't make any sense. Output v potential etc.

Exactly- he's definitely worth more, as he was a Pick 3 and his standing has since improved. But if he hypothetically wants to leave, his value then drops. He's only worth what someone is willing to pay.

He put talks on hold or at least that's what was reported?
Yeah i remember that actually!!!! i think it'll be ok, with the talent we have this was bound to happen at some stage with someone, we still have conca to deal with although he isn't worth as much right now!!

Disagree, Grimes, Zeibell and Garlett are being over rated here IMO.

Daylight is between Dusty and Zeibell and I do not care if North think Zeibell can touch the moon, I do not:p.

Armitage and pick 3 or even Watts and pick 2 are the most likely but Watts has his issues and Armitage considerably not enough game and upside with the pick 3 question mark for Dusty for mine

Garlett and pick nine is not even in the frame IMO, and Ziebell and 7 for Dusty plus extras is twilight zone stuff IMO!

Dusty is tradeable though. Rohan plus Grundy and a first rounder(as a sweetner) might do it:D

BTW that would be Brody Grundy not Heath;)

Was driving this morning and heard Hutchy and crew on the SEN show, cannot remembers its name. Hutchy had a huge crack at Ralph Carr, saying in essence that Martin is worth the $450,000 ish we are offering and he owes the RFC. Said we are on the cusp of something big and did not need Carr chasing bigger $$$$ for his client at this time. Liam Pickering tried to defend Carr a bit and did say he thought Martin should command $500k, as he is that good a player.

Thought it was interesting that Pickering saw that as his market worth, and shows we are not far off the mark. FWIW, I can see a deal being done very soon, given Martin's father is in town, only possible hold-up being that Carr is on holidays at present

One easy solution for me is sign Dusty up for 600Kper year for 4-5 years backloaded first 2 years on 500K and everything fits doesn't it??

Happy days!!:)

I see no risk with Dusty, he looks as solid and robust as they come and to be honest I would sign him for 6-7 years in a heartbeat!!:thumbsu:

Is it possible that he saw Dan R, liked the contract that he saw and just said
"Yep, looks alright, I'll wait until Ralphy gets back from Bali before signing on the dotted line. Tiges 4 lyfe. Thanks Dan, can't wait to tweet how much I love the Tiges. Let's go Dad".

Journos then see Dusty leaving with no contract renewal

THE AGE -
Dustin Martin turns down Richmond's latest offer
That's my story and I'm sticking with it

Surplus to needs. Elton, Griffiths and McBean will be ready next year to start developing on field.

As for Nahas on 250k. Well that is a guess but I reckon it's not miles off the mark.
I would think he's on that if not a bit more. The Average AFL player in 2012 was on $250K. Before this season his play was slightly above average so he might have even been getting more.
