I think the universal hatred is for his manager more than anything else.

The philosophical crap he posted today, shows the public where he head is at. The AFL should look at deregistering nut jobs from becoming player managers. All his manager has succeeded in doing is angering the supporters, which is not fair on Martin. Martin should be listening to Cotchin, Jack and Lids. Not tossers like his manager and suburban reserve grade players like connors. Otherwise, Martin could be playing alongside that drop kick in no time.

I'd be happy that the club takes the stance that if he wants to play for the Tigers next year, then he needs to come back to us. Otherwise, move on. As long as we are adequately compensated.

I guess his manager keeps telling dusty - "Wait a bit longer, we want the tigers toupee" :D

But if you do things to "help" people then why do you want something in return??? If I helped a mate out I would help because I want to help them... not because I wanted something in return. What we have done is "help" Dustin.... and good on us for doing that. But that doesn't give us the right to put guilt on Dustin if he wants to go.
We have loaded the gun by offering him less than what he is worth. We took the risk by over paying him in his last contract. Its nots Dusty fault.

HTF can anyone say that he has shat on the club ??????? at the end of the day has he been worth the money he has been on... IMO yes.... does he now deserve more... I say yes. Based purely on talent.

Do I want the club to move him on.... absolutely.... but not for 1 second do I blame Dusty. I want us to move him on because he is a walking time bomb and I want us to cash in his currency and get a kid with a good head.

That puts a slightly different twist on your comments, you agree he is a time bomb and a liability... this means you agree he is not sound mind and has no integrity, loyalty or respect...

I still think he is a dog and deserved all the bad press and sledging he gets... to prefer to go to Melbourne, GWS or even Saints, shows he does not care about football, just the cash...

You can not walk out on a friend and not pay the price..

Ralph Carr is representing the interest of his client.... this is a strange thread.

Also maybe we smothered him too much... maybe we have looked over his shoulders too much.... maybe he wants to cut him self free and be his own man??? maybe he feels he has burnt too many bridges at the club?? has too much baggage here? maybe he cant look certain people in the eye and he wants a clean slate???? who f&&%$king knows??? .... all I know is that we should be concentrating on the best possible deal we can get and not on childish, vindictive crap.

let me make this VERY clear...

If you had a friend that needed help and you gave it to him, and supported him and nurtured him.... If you invested your own personal time, effort and money to help someone, and then they do this? Do you say " no hard feelings mate, all the best and i hope you get more money elsewhere and another club can benefit from the hard work i did to keep you on track, good luck."

Think about it.... he has sh!t on the club, the supporters and he has no integrity... **** him!

We are Richmond supporter because we love our team and bleed yellow n black
I don't care what way you spin it, i am not saying i am happy with what he has done at all, but to say things like " i want him dead" & "******* dog campaigner" is beyond a joke, and from what i was reading they we're the more light hearted ones, i on no way will ever agree with what was said to him on twitter & other social media outlets, i am pissed off with him too and think he has made a stupid choice but **** stooping to rediculous levels!!!!!!!!!

I am feeling disgruntled because we paid way over on his first contract, and then he demands extra on his second. If we give him the extra 50k or whatever he wants, then other people out of contract will wan't extra money here, extra money there. I believe the club has handled this really well and even though I would love to see him here next year, I would not be too disappointed if he left as long as we got adequate compensation.

Realistically what would GWS trade for him? Pick one? Which will be Boyd. Which could give us the best young KPF....I'd rather Boyd than Martin. Guns KPFs are harder to find than midfielders.
Trade Martin and 12 for 1 and move on.

yeah but it seems that dusty is gonna cut his nose off to spite his face or his hip pocket.
and how is he doing that??? all that has been revealed is that he is exploring his options.... its our club that has reportedly taken our deal off the table??? Why cant Dusty look for a better deal??

Is Buddy as bad as Dusty??? Is Hawthorn acting like children whilst he "explores other option" ????? FFS grow up people.... its a business and our club gave Dusty a fair shove. Of course he is going to have a look.

This is a well played out move by the club.... which I support. Dusty will get more than 480k next season.

I think the AFL needs to look at a cap on how much a player going into the PSD can be paid. Say a $400k cap? That would completely eliminate the risk of clubs losing their big name players for nothing

Forget that.. It should just be there is no salary cap for players drafted by that club. The only players who should be under salary cap are the ones brought in from other clubs. This solves the issue of players moving for money and IMO makes the game a lot more positive for supporters.

Besides what is the point of a draft if players just leave for more money. Its like penalising the clubs who do a good job recruiting and developing. Really this has been earnt by the club and they should reap the benefits.

I just think that people are acting this way because he hasn't accomplished what Buddy has, and the Tigers have put a lot of off-field effort into him. The fact we overpaid on the last contract doesnt help.

Isn't it strange that Dusty's contractual stalemate is plastered over every media outlet whereas Buddy's future at Hawthorn has not attracted as much media attention in recent weeks. This is an obvious sign of professional discretion between his manager & the club.

????/ how much did Hawthorn "invest" in buddy early??? how often did they have to protect him from the media re: off field incident etc.... Buddy was the biggest bad boy.... Hawthorn turned him around and was rewarded with a premiership... People have short memories.

ITS SIMPLE PEOPLE OUR CLUB WANTS TO MOVE HIM ON..... we have decided that Dusty isn't worth the trouble and we will keep him for less than he is worth.

Maybe it is because we haven't won a flag in over 30 years and just as we are on the verge of getting back into the finals on a regular basis one of our best players decides he is bigger than the club and wants money not team success. I will hate on Dusty if he leaves and I think he deserves everything he gets. He would be so much better off post career if he stayed at Richmond where the fans would worship him post career.

As for Buddy... He has already won them a flag and taken them to finals on many occassions. He would be choosing ridiculous money to go to GWS not just an extra 100k. Also Hawthorn are a better team without Buddy.

I imagine there would have been a lot of angry Hawthorn supporters as well had Buddy tried to leave 3-4 years ago

If buddy was being offered 100k more than what hawks offered him and wanting to leave then yeah there'd be a lot of anger. But for a shedload more cash, everyone wishes him well. If Dusty was offered 200k more than we offer then Id say good luck to him, but to knock back 500-530 for 600k seems pretty despicable. Get it

Seriously some of the shit that is getting posted in here and in social media about this is becoming embarrassing. That picture was posted on June 11, well before the JDM was booked. So I have no doubt that Dustin would have made other arrangements regarding attending that concert.
Chill out ;)

On this. If you think Dusty was the one who typed those tweets your wrong, should come out soon if it has not broken tomorrow. The suspicion is it was Ralph using Dustys tweet account to clarify issues. One reason why Dusty has not gone to the media himself, you think he would if he wanted to tweet to the world to clarify why would he not simply just picked up the phone and ring SEN?

He has not gone to the media himself because he did not type those tweets :)

Maybe use more question marks???? It might help no? yes or No? yes?????

No we didn't give him a shove, he and his manager have strung us along for months and verbally agreed to a deal which they backed off from in the last few days because of one Paul Roos. This is fact

You can't compare Dusty to Buddy - you simply can't. While technically the situations are the same, they're not. Buddy has give 8 or 9 years to the hawks, numerous finals and a flag. Same with Daisy Thomas....it seems that RFC has given more to Dusty than what he's given us.

Sure he's free to leave but don't sit there on your high horse telling the majority of us off because we feel pissed off about it. We're well within our rights to feel completely ****** off!!!!
