He was always good (very good ranking at 10th-15th). But the others have been top 5 for as long as I can remember and played at that level for that long. He's top 5 now obviously but for how long? I think he may drop back a notch again but hope he maintains his form for years to come

Dangerfield was a pretty slow burn. For whatever reason he sat up forward for the Crows for a long time. Was a classic burn man in fantasy comps, until Craig got kicked down the road.

St Kilda is a tough environment for a 12 year old

Are you ok?

Danger is eating Dusty's dust. Martin has entered the esteemed canon of great footballers at his club, now sitting right next to Billy Barrot who also got flags in 7 and 9 years, and was also the most dynamic player of his time. Martin will likely maintain his ascent on the greats ladder, where Barrot's injuries caught up with him.

All the while Danger is sitting next to a bunch of blokes in the Cats cannon who made and failed in finals, repeatedly.

St Kilda wouldn't even be able to beat a twelve year old in a fight that's how bad they are

Barrot is a really interesting comparison. Quite probably NOT the best centreman in the competition - but absolutely the most destructive on his day. Played brilliantly in finals. A great wildcard to throw forward (famously played full-forward against Carlton in the 2nd-last round of 1969 when Richmond HAD to win to make finals - and kicked 8). Massive lair as well.

Ian Stewart was probably the better player - but in one of the biggest trades of all time, they swapped clubs and there was a lot of discussion as to who got the better end of the deal - Stewart the all-round classical consistent midfielder, Barrott the explosive match-winning force. History shows Barrott fizzled out spectacularly, and Stewart went on to a premiership and another Brownlow.

I think Barrott's injuries were somewhat self-inflicted - he became very keen on muscle building-building in the gym, and definitely caused himself some issues.
Have a look at him here playing in the SANFL - his legs are immense (he still kicks the ball about 85 metres  ).

I note a black dog running after the footy in the opening shots of the youtube episode!

There were rumours at the time of Barrot being "difficult", perhaps also a reason to let him go. I recall seeing him playing VFA early 70s, very successfully, I can vouch for the magnetism and aura that he had. He intimidated via his explosiveness and unpredictability. He is a footy style forefathet of De Goey, who has a lot to prove still, but also maginificent to watch.

stewart was definitely a better player than bugsy , but of you were down and needed a game won, then it’s no contest

We are 6 years old though. In terms if $$, corruption, facilities.

And even at 6 years old we went 10 rounds with mike tyson at 25yo and stayed the distance. Respect that more than a 25yo mike tyson bashing a 12yo girl with crohns disease.
