So does Dusty get the votes in finals because Richmond wins? Or does Richmond win finals because Dusty plays well enough to get the votes?
Bit of both.
Cannot be disputed he lifts in finals. Just in the last two finals series, for someone who isn't reputed as a big goalkicking threat (unlike Dangerfield), he's kicked 4 twice (both in Grand finals) and 6 in a Qualifying final. The 2018 Prelim is the only average game from him in a final I can recall in the last 4 years. Dangerfield has been way more up and down. His best hasn't been as good and his bad has been much worse.

Suspect Scott has been mimicking Richmond's use of Martin. He made a rather pointed remark recently along the lines of Dusty's a forward, yeah he might start in the middle at times but he's a forward.
Don't think it's right to downgrade a player on one match. I see Dangerfield a bit similar to Richo - team now looks to him to get them over the line, but he can't always do it. Also like Richo, he's a better player running at the goals than away from them.
We did a fantastic job to make the Grand final. No question at all. But we've got some real concerns in a few areas and I'm not sure the club, coaches or players are willing to face them honestly.
Dusty and Danger swap teams in this year's Grand Final, and Geelong win.I'm not disputing Dusty being better than Danger in finals, but Dusty is 10-2 and Danger 5-8 in that time so would always win the votes. There are probably several Richmond players that get more votes per game in the finals than any Geelong player including Danger
Delusional hipster.Just no
Individually, Fyfe is better. And it’s not really that close.
Maybe a 'Dangerfield is better than Cale Morton' would provide for better debate? This thread is about as useful as the "Dustin Martin is better than Cale Morton" thread I didn't bother creating.
Everyone conveniently forgets that night, he was kicking to his mates in the grandstand all night what was it sub 40%Danger’s 3 finals against Richmond have all been horrible. The 2017 qualifier was one of the worst games of his career. Watching Dusty take home BOG honours in all 3 must’ve hurt

Dusty and Danger swap teams in this year's Grand Final, and Geelong win.
If Danger was half the player the media project him to be, Geelong's finals record is significantly better.
Dangerfield in a canter. Not even close. He's also somebody you actually want around your club.
