This side would annihilate Carlton in 2018.
If you don't get Martin and Kelly, then heaven help you.

Back to the draft for NM.

Manchester United, Juventus,
I'm not so sure. Would need to be a far bigger offer than what the Tigers are offering for him to move IMO.
He isn't moving for $100k a year extra. Tigers will probably go to a max of $1.3-1.4m I'd think so anyone else needs to be offering over $1.5m

There is NO way the Tigs can offer 1.4... just can't happen. The Prestia signing kills them in this instance.

I love how you seem to think you know how our cap works, it's quite funny as well as wrong.

We don't have many on big money, our big names aren't even on mega deals, Rance for example signed way under his market value as did Riewoldt.

Aren't they already offering him $1.1-1.2m?
You find the extra $100-200k to keep someone of his quality
Yes we are, the guy is just guessing, going to be funny when like in previous years like they have with Heeney, Hannebery and others they try and play in the big kid sandpit but get rejected because they simply aren't a destination club unless you wave to top up the retirement fund.
I'm more worried by Hawthorn and St Kilda, he won't join a bottom 4 with no certainty over the coaching staffs future.

The big difference is that club's pay more/ overs to entice a player.
Generally club's don't compete to retain a player .
Richmond may increase a bit on their initial offer but I find it difficult to see that they are irresponsible enough to compete against the open market overs offers
If Richmond are offering 1to 1.2 million there is absolutely no reason Dusty wouldn't resign to end speculation and focus on the season. Unless Dusty has already made up his mind

Geez that HS article is a stretch. Talk about trying to paint a pretty picture. I had a good laugh about it. 4 top picks next year they reckon.... ha ha ha ha

If they were to land either Martin or Kelly they will be trading next years picks along with this years.

Clearly that article has had help to write by a dellusional Roos supporter. It reeks of desperation.

5 loses under 2 goals! Ha ha ha ha. Welcome to 2017 most teams have had a few or more.

I'm surprised there wasn't trade suggestions included in the article like Lindsay Thomas and a 2nd rounder for Martin. Goldstein and a 3rd rounder for Kelly. Crazy stuff.

Thought you'd reply SB.Half that side is not yet even proven,Waite and Goldy won't be there and you know yourself Kelly and Martin are no chance. And yes your right that side would annihilate the blues (northern) next year.

Rance, Cotchin, Riewoldt, Prestia are all in more money then anyone on Norths list. Trade Goldy for a bag of chips as long as whomever gets him takes his contract.... and there is more cash than you can match.

Of course.

We sign up the likes of Thompson, Hansen & Gibson on lucrative 1 year contracts and roll up again next year with a stack of chips, and pick up a couple of quality kids at this years draft, and see what we can rustle up at the PSD..

It's ALL win!

Do you know the exact numbers though?

Salary cap isn't a issue for us at all, we've been sitting in money for a few years now and you think it all went to Prestia last year do you?

We've already tabled a offer well over 1 million a year.

It's not happening, next year you will make a big money offer to big name out of contract players and be rejected again.

You sure do engage in a high level of crystal ball gazing for a person that claims others know nothing.

Personally, I am absolutely certain that you don't have a clue, but keep banging away if it makes you temporarily feel better.:thumbsu:

So why hasn't Dusty signed yet then? It seems to me, that if he loved the club like you say, you were offering terms, and coin like you say..... he would just sign wouldn't he??

Welcome to the North Melbourne Football Club Dusty, you'll like it here.

The offer is public and confirmed now, so the pressure is on the Tiges to get him signed or at least get some type of comment.

If he/Carr continues to hold off even commenting until the end of the season, then Richmond should just move on and start looking at trades with thier cap money.

Hahahahahahaha, Yarran, Lids, Ivan?!?!??
Bless. Not even close to having the money to match, you will see.
the only way Martin stays at laughmond is if Premiershipmond offer him more years and dollars, which means they will need to offer him 1.2million over 6 to 8 years
seriously you do not have the cap space, to keep him you will have to let go of probably 2 best 22 players...., north simply have the cap space to put an offer forward to him..
lets face it its round 18 so his management are in the box seat to get him a great deal, we have seen this situation several times before.....

tigers will need to pay big or GORN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hello North Melbourne...

Have to love the desperation in here. "You don't have the cap space!" "NO Way!"

Dusty is already on 650k
Add Lids who’s still on the books for this year only to facilitate the trade at 400k, Yarran (retired) at 500k, Maric (retired) at 350k
That’s 1.9 mill we can offer + Salary cap just went up by 2 MILLION. This is even before we de-list all the deadwood like Steven Morris, Taylor Hunt and Jake Batchelor.

I'd be surprised if we don't make a competitive offer to Kelly.
