Meeting the North leadership group 1.5 weeks before their biggest final in 30 years...

View attachment 409340
Nah I doubt it mate, my read is this is an old fashioned custom that few do now, with the exception of real men.

If he meets our group again before any announcement, I believe he is simply paying his respects to another group of men who were willing to embrace him as a brother, and informing them that he is staying put.

If he is moving he will stay silent and inform the Richmond players first before meeting with North and releasing a press statement.

This is how honorable men conduct themselves.

If this is the case then my respect for the bloke just shot up a few notches whether he stays or comes over.

If Dusty does re-sign, there will be three dozen tugger posters foaming at the mouth on our board within 2 minutes ready to write stuff like you just wrote.

North's offer has seriously messed with a lot of them.

The barrage will be like Trump pressed the big red button on his nukes facing N Korea..

So what, who cares?

The true outcome of all this is they went through months of hell just to stay in the same place.

North's offer has seriously messed with a lot of them.
They are conflicted because they can't apportion blame at the feet of their idol, who is ultimately responsible for their angst.

It's been a fun ride in a dull season.

The absolute best part is for North it is win win. It always has been.

For Richmond it is losing a silver lining or just plain old lose.

I notice SEN is no longer reporting on news that Dusty is meeting with North players this week. I would be shocked if he was given they have a finals series coming up. Was that grab simply referring to the fact that he supposedly met with them weeks ago? Absolutely hopeless resporting if that's the case. Dead set shocking and embarrassing.

If he is in fact meeting with them again this week, I would say it's simply to flush out Tigers to pay more.

Yeah. I'm not sure how true it is and to be honest I pretty much don't believe anything reported about this whole event. In fact I'm certain it's big because we are all talking about it but not as big for the parties involved.
But it's doing the rounds that Carr charges 14% whereas normally it's 4 or 5 %.
Sounds like bullshit to me. And besides there are different rates for different parts of the contract.
A mates brother plays and he's 4% but that's the contract whereas it's higher for things outside the contract, he also doesn't see his paycheck. It's all managed and he gets an allowance.
Maybe Carr is 14% flat rate which is an entirely different thing than what's being said.
Anyway. Whatever it is I don't think Dusty will be complaining apart from perhaps Carr using his profile for a fair dose of self promotion.
I don't know for sure, but thought I read somewhere (reputable, not BF) that managers' percentages were regulated by the league as part of their accreditation. And yeah, additional services are more of a free-for-all, since I guess the manager can do to drum up that business than simply attaching themselves remora-like to a player who's gonna get paid regardless.

I recall something along those lines too. If I trust my dodgy memory it's 3% for football income but for endorsements and other income it's between the player and manager.

3-4% for salaries & 15-20% for merchandising

Agree.

Carr is in NZ because he has two contracts in his briefcase and Dusty will sign one of them.

Then, one way or another:

Methinks, Snake, that if by some chance Dusty signs with us, it would be worth another suspension to post this on the Dusty thread on the Tigers board. Very apt.

Alternatively if he stays with the Tigers as I predict, re-post it here so that we can all have a quiet sad reflective moment.

If the former, then send me the link to that clip and I'll post it on the Tigers board. I'm happy to get a suspension for "helping" the Tigers deal with their grief.

Welcome to North Vlustin.
Signed up until 2019.

I had a look at their 2018 out of contract list and their isn't a single player that would seriously interest me.

Richmond Players Out of Contract in 2018

Bachar Houli - Nope
Benjamin Griffiths- Nope
Connor Menadue- Nope
Corey Ellis- Nope
Dylan Grimes- Nope
Jack Graham- Nope
Jayden Short- Nope
Reece Conca- Nope
Ryan Garthwaite- Nope
Sam Lloyd- Nope
Shai Bolton - Possibly, but I doubt the trade would make it worthwhile.
Shaun Hampson- Nope

No wonder they are moving heaven & earth to keep Martin.

Knowing my luck, I would get pinched for being an "accessory"

Not the same place, exactly - the extra they would have to pay him to stay is out of their cap and costs them someone else sooner or later. So well worth it either way - the big money equivalent of how North regularly bids on academy and F/S players at the draft.
