We "Basically" saw Dusty drawn and quartered by not just the media, social commentators, opposition supporters, club legends and even sections of our own supporter base. All before waiting for both sides of the story to emerge. Dusty by his own admission couldn't give his side of the events, but thankfully various other witnesses could. Well played RFC and dare I say it AFL by not being reactive to the media hysteria, for instigating and most importantly waiting for a conclusive Police investigation.
Make no mistake Dusty behaved like an absolute dill by being rat-arse drunk in public during preseason and deserves to be punished in house by whatever the Leadership group deem appropriate, but that should be the end of it. By witness accounts he was baited (repeatedly) and bit back hard. He now needs education and support to get better at dealing with that kind of issue as I fear it will only happen to him more often now unfortunately. Anonymity is no longer a thing for you Dusty, get used to it. If you choose to play up in public, you will be target number one for the media and every punter with a smart phone. I know I personally wouldn't like to have the ability to be out of the public eye taken from me but that's his reality now, he will though be more than adequately financially compensated for that for the duration of his career however long he's future actions dictate that to be.
My question is will any members of the media, print and television, issue a retraction of the defaming character assassination type of comments that they so willingly attached to him before the inconsistencies of "Tracy's" embellished stories became obvious.
Oh and I'm still eagerly awaiting Rita's similarly themed articles attacking Luke Hodge for his drink driving during the finals series (an actual Police recorded offence Rita!) and the "Hawthorn Duo" post grand final rape allegations. I won't hold my breath waiting.
