Not Caro is it? :p:D

I'm not saying it needs approval by me or anyone else, and yes you are correct, it is her call, but it is very very odd that she didn't get the authorities involved. I know I would if someone was threatening my life.

To be blatantly blunt, they probably didn't care, all the time, effort, money, resources and manpower involved the police really just don't care, unless of course they have all the evidence right there in front of them so they don't have to do much legwork.

I can tell you first hand that Woman get well looked after by the authorities and courts system.

Quick story, my own cousin who I no longer speak to, claimed I made death threats towards her, even though A: I was never there and B: I never said anything of the sort to her, she called police, I was arrested, gave a no comment interview (as all people should do when being interviewed even if innocent) she took an intervention order out against me, it went to court, prosecutor recommended me for the Diversion program, and that was that.

And once again, I ask, a clear intoxicated (possibly high) man is standing in front of you, you've made it clear in your interviews since after that you feared for your life, yet, at the time, you made no effort to either A: Remove yourself from the situation and B: call the authorities.

My theory, she doesn't want anything more to come of it because outside of the media the story has no leg to stand on in the courts system.
Actually they did care

I caused serious physical damage, which required a number of procedures to correct, and the dad rocked up to my house to beat the shut out of me

I can assure you, they cared

As someone said in an earlier post,Take Dusty right out of the equation(Home in bed)and it was just your run of the mill bloke with tatts,You think she would have confronted him not knowing who he is?
I'll put it to you another way, lets say the woman was your partner/mum/sister and Dusty threatened to stab her in the eye with a chopstick along with hurling abuse at her would people still be so forgiving as they are?

Luke Hodge - captain of the club gets caught drink driving (no suspension, $450 fine)
Michael Hurley - gets extremely intoxicated, tries to evade cab fare, kicks the cab driver in the groin and punches him after being approached for not paying the fare (NAB challenge & 3 weeks, no fine)
Taylor Adams - pleads guilty to affray and recklessly causing injury where one man ends up with a broken jaw (1 week, $3,347 fine)
Liam Jurrah - charged with a machete attack causing serious head injuries to a man (no suspension or fine - Melbourne said they would "stand by Jurrah")
Alan Didak - has a car ride with an accused murderer who starts firing shots out of his window, continues to drink with bikies at a club house after in Campbellfield (no suspension or fine)
Nathan Bock - assaulted girlfriend in public and caused property damage (1 week, $5,000 fine)
Daniel Kerr - charged twice with assault in 2007 (no suspension or fine)
Steve Johnson - is caught speeding almost 80km over the speed limit (no suspension or fine - Geelong officials dismiss it as a "brain spasm")
Jeff Farmer - pleaded guilty to assaulting his partner by hitting her several times in the head (no suspension, $2,000 fine)
Ben Cousins & Michael Gardner - questioned by police over telephone calls they allegedly received in Melbourne that were made following a brawl and shooting at a Perth nightclub. Police believed they had conversations with at least one of the two men charged with disposing of the gun after the brawl (no suspension or fine)
Collin Sylvia - allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and threatened to kill a passerby who intervened. It is believed he was intoxicated at the time (no suspension or fine - Melbourne say they're "disappointed Collin didn't advise us of the matter")
Simon Goodwin - assaulted a photographer before threatening to "f***ing kill" him after running amok at an Adelaide pub at 11am (no suspension or fine - Adelaide call it a "learning experience")
Brodie Holland - was charged with assaulting two women out the front of a Melbourne nightclub ($2,500 fine, no suspension - Collingwood "disappointed")

Dustin Martin - is extremely intoxicated, threatens to kill/stab a woman with chopsticks in a restaurant after being told to "settle down" (potential delisting or 12 month suspension and maximum fine)

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Just because other clubs acted softly when the chance arose to nip poor behavior in the bud it doesn't mean we should. We are a club who has a woman as it's president and we're aligned with the Allanah & Madeline Foundation whose values include caring respect & responsibility and it's main role is protecting children from violence and it's impact on them. To sweep what Dusty did under the rug and give him a token punishment wouldn't sit right with me at all.

To put the whole situation into perspective I reckon posters need to ask themselves, what's more important setting an acceptable standard of behavior and ensuring that everyone in the club is held to account when they act inappropriately or is it winning games? I'd be seriously disappointed if anyone suggested that winning games of footy was more important.

I say this with the utmost respect, but, if they truly did care, you would have been charged, taken to court and locked away.

Mystical place that, the only other Sydney I heard of had to deal with peptides and ASADA. If I remember correctly, and I think I do, there was a certain rugby league club called Cronulla that had to deal with some shit like that
You'd have to live in each city to appreciate the difference in the way sport is covered. The average crowd numbers at AFL games compared to Sydney NRL games tells part of the story.

And it was looking that way for a while

As I said, I did some serious damage

You don't know any of the people involved though, so how on earth can you say they didn't give a **** that their kids face was smashed in?

Similar to this issue, you are assuming everyone thinks and acts like you would

If your scared for your life as the media are suggesting then you would if no family member is available(at the very least).
Again depends upon your experiences

Growing up the coppers in our area were known for belting you in the head with bike pumps and phone books. Why would you go to them unless forced to?

Btw not saying she had this occur with her, just people have different life experiences so we can't assume they place the same value in institutions (like the cops or media) that we do

Exactly. Your past environment influences your future actions. If your family is unreliable, or you don't trust the cops or you know that some gang banger on the corner has had success protecting others, then you will naturally seek such options out.

Decision making - especially in stressful situations - is never universal.
