It's interesting the way you mention the isolation Dons. I was chatting to an ex-Perth friend of mine who works in the arts community about how Perth always seems to be a great breeding ground for musicians, writers, and other artists. She commented that because Perth is so isolated, artists tend to look at places like Melbourne, Sydney, and overseas cities as some sort of artistic meccas where the standards are so much higher. So Perth people push themselves more and end up becoming more creative and driven than the people in less isolated cities.

I know someone in a band called Sleepy Township. The name is how he describes his hometown of Perth.

dons_r_tops- I'm only too aware of that fact! I didn't say they shouldnt be here, I was just wondering

Guess it must be pretty hard supporting a team that plays on the other side of the country.

Actually, do you mind if I ask why you (everyone, not just d_r_t) support who you do? Have you been a fan of that team for years, is it a family connection, or do you just like that team? I'm just curious

I've been barracking for the Bombers for
over 30 years. I used to live in North Ringwood Victoria, which in those days was Bombers drafting zone.
I used to go & watch the local boys on Sundays & the Bombers Saturdays.
I got to know a lot of the 1980's team really well, as we were neighbours & socialized together, before they got drafted by the Bombers. Even after they joined the Bombers we still stayed friends, they didn't get up themselves with Vanders being the exception. Boy did he get a big head, still has.
