How many here have bought a DVD Recorder with a hard drive? What brand would you recommend and what size hard drive and formats would you go for. Also what good and bad experiences have you had with your DVD Recorder. I have heard that Toshiba are pretty good, is this true?

I am considering dipping my toes in the DVD Recorder water in the not too distant future and wouldn't mind some feedback. Thanks.

I've had a 80GB Toshiba RD-XS32SG for a few months now and had no problems with it at all. It has also burnt on all the types of discs that I have tried, including some of the cheapest brands you can get.

I bought the Panasonic one with the HDD, got it cheap as it was a display (kicks ass on the VCR). But if I had my time over, id serious look at Microsofts media center (I think its called). All inputs go to it (A dedicated PC for a little more), pay TV, free to air ect go to it, and it records, will send any signal you get to any TV around the house, including your MP3s to speakers as I understand it, and is upgradable like a PC . Worth the looksee anywayz.
