Should not surprise us that he is up to it. Very highly rated as a junior, got get for SFA.

Agree he needs and deserves time on the firsts. So does Watson, and Lucas, and menzel. This side will never challenge for the flag so we need the find our next gen. Bucks is one.

No. I just don't have a lot of time for posters that come in with an antagonistic style, pretend they are new and then made comments such as this one that suggests they have long held opinions. No time and no patience. I suggest you pull your head in. It's a community, not a vehicle purely for individual grandstanding.

To test my hypothesis go start a thread on the main board asking for opinions on Buckley's game.

Remove the obvious morons just have a crack at us and I dare say the responses from reasoned posters will be more like "potential best 22 with development" not "rising star nom" "deadset gun" etc.

It is posters like you who will always down play every negative and hype up even the smallest positive that is why this club is where it is.

I don't think anyone reckons he's the next Ablett, but he played a very good game in his second AFL game. Let people be happy about it, there isn't much else to go on. In bad times supporters can look forward to young talent, and he appears to be that. Relief is doubled when many had thought he was on his way out the door.
I'm pretty sure posters don't have any say at all in why the club is where it is.

Fantastic effort all night, made me really happy to see him not afraid to take the game on and work hard in traffic with or without the pill to influence the contest. Lays tackles, sheppards, chases hard and then on the flip side when he had the ball didn't look fazed just worked through each situation one at a time and made good decisions. Hopefully we see plenty more of Dylan this season as I think we have found a good one.

Could he be an option to free up Walker a little bit? allow him to potentially move forward as an option for periods of the game?

Why was he played as a floating forward in the twos learning nothing if he performs like that as a rebound defender?

Our player development is awesome.

Sorry. I think the reality is the complete opposite. We played him as a forward as he was drafted as one. It's our development that thought maybe putting him down back would help increase his possession rate & make him focus more. And guess what, it worked.

Honestly, Bucks was the only one doing anything of note in the first half. For a guy in his second game in a back line that was under siege, he was a beauty to watch. It's just so nice to see a young player not afraid to take it on & throw himself at everything.

Well done Buckers. Well done.

p.s. see what happens when you throw the young ones out there - you might get pleasantly surprised.

He's gonna be a ripper, has the pace and athleticism and skills to be a great player and he's as hard as nails, aggressive player who unlike so many of our players tackles with intent. Selectors want a kick up the arse for not having him in the round 1 team.

Honestly, it's hard to take a loss harshly anymore. I don't know about the rest of you but the loss to Essendon* the second time round really makes these loses feel like nothing. Absolutely devastated that day.

Played a fair bit in the middle last year, and did well too. It would be as much a matter of building up his tank as anything.
