Not a catastrophic trade for them. They basically gave up Miles Bergman for him. Caldwell was drafted with the other first rounder and plays for Essendon now anyway. Berg would be very handy for them now, but Shiel did contribute well for a few years at the Bombers.

Shiel isn’t Tom Atkins but he isn’t a front runner either.

His body has just been failing him for a phew years and he was never gonna be a good fit next to Parish and our other small mids

I thought he finished the year strong and could be a nice free hit for a contender as break glass in case of emergency type depth VFL player. Could be a good cheap option for Brisbane, GC or Adelaide?
